On the Exercise front...

Don't ride your bicycle to work, when you haven't ridden in several months and never that far in your life.  First, I am not as graceful a rider as I was at 10..that was 50 years ago.  Second, I didn't have an artificial knee 50 years ago.  And last, it hurts a lot more when you fall now.  However, I did at least 12 miles today.  I think if I will hold it down to about a mile two or three times a week, I can get where I can actually ride with some dignity again.

Oh, yes, and when I fell, someone called the police and told them there was an old lady laying beside the road.  He came by to check on me a couple of miles down the road, while I was pushing my bike up an incline.

It's ok to laugh, I did.

In the future, I may consider training wheels.  I am also going to make shorter trips.  I am a little sore from that little venture.  However, overall, it now makes the four blocks to the grocery store seem very doable.  I have a large market basket on the handle bars and two large baskets on the sides of the rear wheel. I could easily carry stuff, as long as I kept it pretty simple.  I think my riding skills are not up to carrying eggs or breakable jars at this point in time....lol
