Protein Bars

I have found two that are really good.  The mixed box of Premier from Sam's has 30 grams of protein in each bar.   Tastes good and has three flavors.  I particularly liked the double chocolate one, so now I order them directly from the company online.  If you order them one flavor only, they are more expensive.  This same company makes the Odessey Chocolate, Almond coconut bar, too.  This bar is also 30 grams of protein.  They make another bar, that I have not tried that is 40 grams of protein.  You can order them online, but they are expensive, as I find all protein bars cost about $1.00 to $1.50 a piece.  Thought that some of you might like to have protein in a carry in your purse or pocket form.

I have not had very good luck with the protein bars. I just cannot find any that I am willing to eat on a regular basis. I haven't tried the Premier and will make it a point to pick up a box the next time I go to Sam's. Thanks for sharing!!

I have found Pure Protein Bars at Sam's.  These are the only ones that i like.  THey have 3 different kinds in the box.  I want to say Double Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and some type of cookie Peanut Butter.  I like the Peanut Butter one the best. All the other kinds are to sweet to me even though they have no sugar.  IF they smell sweet i cant eat it.  Just the smell of sugar makes me dump.

I have not tried the Pure Protein, as I recall they did not have as much protein.  YOu would dump on the Premier, it does taste sweet.

I just really do not like peanut butter cookies, bars, etc    I can eat peanut butter by itself, but it is one of those things that I have started eating after WLS.  NO, I have yet to eat a peanut and jelly sandwich.   And my experience with most of the protein bars that I tried prior to these premier bars was that they tasted, at best, bad.  I love the double chocolate crunch flavor best...it is like a chewy brownie.  The peanut butter yogurt flavor reminds me of the old Zero candy bars.  What I like best is the high protein count to the bars.  I have not found any that have more than these.  Although, this same company makes one that has 40 gr. protein to the bar.  I have not tried one of those as of yet.

These bars were meant for body builders, so they are a little different than the weight loss products.

It is all a matter of personal taste.  While I love these and can eat them everyday and be happy with them, some of you may find them repulsive.  But you are going to be hard pressed to find a higher protein count than what these have.

The protein bars with 30 gr. of protein have between 6-8 grams of sugar.  I have ordered some new ones that have coconut, almonds, and chocolate and have 40 grams of protein with about 10 grams of sugar.  I am eager to try these.
