Yes, 6 years later I would do it all over again.  My lowest weight ever was 168# post op, and this morning I weighed 171# - so, my life is good.  I will never be a wafer thin and trim woman, but I accept myself just as I am.
Wishing you the very best!

Would I do it again?  Heck yeah!  In a heart beat.  I am just at 2 years out (2 year surgery anniversary was Sunday) and my quality of life is sooooooo much better than I could have ever imagined it to be.  The first couple of months are difficult as you learn your limits and navigate your way back to "real" food, but after that it's all good.

Mine was a lap RNY and I didn't have any complications at all.  Even the people that I know that had minor and major complications say they would still do it again.  It's definitely a personal decision and one that you have to be 100% comfortable with and you also have to be mentally prepared to make some serious changes.  These changes may seem difficult, but after the surgery, it seems the way you think about food and eating actually changes.  I no longer want many of the things that I used to eat all the time (and I even have a high tolerance for dumping...unfortunately).

Wishing you the best of luck in whatever you decide is the best decision for YOU.

I would do it again in a heart beat.  It is the best thing that I have ever done for my health.  I started at 240 and lost to 165....I stay around 172 most of the time.  I need to lose those last pesky 30 pounds, but I am older...yes, even elderly...and it is harder for me. But I have the best health that I have had in many, many years.  It will be 4 years in September...I think.

so far 12 out of 12 separate posters have said they would do it again. That's pretty encouraging.

Thanks guys.

I had WLS on 9-13-05.  I have had absolutely not troubles (other than the ones I caused by eating too fast or too much).  I would definitely do this again and again.  I no longer take b/p meds, anti depressants, arthritis meds. and I have a life.  I could not walk far at all before.  I never wanted to go anywhere.  I hated my life.  I love life now and intend to live life to the fullest that I can.  There are "horror" stories, but honestly, I do not know anyone personally that has them.  If you are comfortable with your surgeon, talk with him about it.  If you are not, find another.  My surgeon is the best, as most people think theirs are LOL.  My answer to your question would be YES, YES YES!!!  Please let us hear from you.  I wish you all the best.
