OH! BOY! Here we go!!

I have been slack here the last 3 weeks....maybe more.  I applogize.  I've been getting some priorities in order and doing some inventory....on myself.  Both physically and spiritually!!

I have lost 16 lbs and I could just .   Well,  I have been.  I've done some jumping and bending, and ablounging.  I'm up to 50 ablounges and for me, that is good.  Right now, I am wearing a T-shirt that I use to wear that had gotten too tight.  Actually, too little!!!  I can't believe I've got it on .  I was up to a 36 waist and have 2 pair of 38 waist dress pants.  Yep.  I sure had!!

Now, I'm back down to my 34's.  I know I am bragging, but I want to let you know,
"IF YOU HAVE GAINED, IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOSE AGAIN!!"
It IS possible to shrink your pouch back down.  I have been on a fast of protein shakes and veggies (small portions of veggies) and have cut out my snacks and sweets.  I had totally gotten out of hand with my snacking and sweets.  Funny thing is, I never wanted sweets before WLS.  After the surgery, I got a little sweet tooth and it grew on me.  As of cutting them out totally the last 21 days, I have lost that sweet tooth.  Yes, I have tried today and the sweets are too sweet.  Gaining, I was put back on insulin.  The last 21 days, I have not had to take a shot..... ALL BECAUSE OF THE NO SWEETS OR BREADS!!!   So, I am proof (in my self) that sweets and breads are an enemy when you allow them to get out of hand.

To those of us who have been here 5 years even 3 or 4...maybe less and you have gained, take control of yourself and USE THE TOOL WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN.  I think that all of us are challenged during this walk.  It is like my spiritual walk.  Am I going to give in to the temptations or am I going to turn and walk on?   I don't know about anyone else, but I'm walking on!!!

To win for me!!  I will win in 2010!!!  Join me?

I have seen a lot of people re-gain their weight after surgery and to honest.  That is my greatest fear.  I have become obsessed about weighing myself 2-3x's a day again.....following a 6 lb. gain over the holidays.  I have lost those 6 lbs.  but it scares the life out of me to know that I can re-gain.

Thanks for the inspiration, and for letting me know that loss is possible after significant gain!  I am not as far out as a lot of people so I know I have more challenges ahead.

Hi Leslie.  You are very welcome.   Yes, loss is possible.  Gaining use to be my greatest fear too.  You gain 10 lbs easy and it is mind blowing, then you gain another 5 and you swear you are going to lose, then there ends up being 20 lbs. before you know it.  We just can not let it get out of hand.  We CAN be and ARE in charge of ourselves.  It is a mental thing....a mental walk.

It all boils down to how bad we want to stay thin.  I worked hard to get to a size 32 by having surgery.  I will get back there and will stay.  If I have to stay on shakes.  LOL  They are good to me anyway.  So many different ones.

I WILL BE THIN!

Randall you are so right about losing all those unwanted regained #'s.   I am back to having to start back at the basic's and relearning what I did 6 1/2  years ago.  We can do this, we have been given the tool's to make this work.   No snacking or sweets for me.  I am having to be so extra careful as I am now unable to throw up.  Sure don't want to suffer for an hour or so.
For those of you that want to lose a few extra pounds, go back to protein, water, your vitamins. Get in all your protein, at least 64 oz of water.  Caffein tea and coffee does not count toward your water.  Cut out all those empty calories you consume, soft drinks, beer, wine, mixed drinks, sweets, cake, candy.  If you have to have something sweet make it a good sweet, fruit is wonderful and has a lot of fiber and water.  Try low sugar yogurt, sugar free popsicle's.
Okay I am off one of my soap box's.   We all can do this, we have been given the tool to make it work.    And one last thing, get involved in a support group.  At over 6 years out I still learn something new ever month at support group.  It helps to keep you accountable.

AMEN Louise.  Make your food count!!  No EMPTY anything!!!

As for vomiting.....I've been vomiting a lot as of late.  Lucy and I can't figure it out.  I can be lying in bed usually around 9 p.m. just before sleep, and I have to get up and run.    This has been going on for about a month now.  No clue as to why or where it is coming from.  I get very nauseated.  Some foods that I am introducing back into my diet cause it I'm sure.  I'm to the point that I am careful as to what I'm eating.............and when!!  LOL

Water is the key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Can't stress it enough!!  I've picked up more water (crystal light) than I have in the last 3 years.  Back on my vitamin and calcium and they have been the kicker to the losing.  Peter Carrol told me this 3 years ago or more and he was right!!!  VITAMINS AND WATER EQUAL LOSING!!

Love ya my friend and good to see ya!

I am thrilled for you.  Isn't it awesome when we do those inventories!!!!  I too have been working on a moral and spiritual one and through that, many chains have been broken.  It is so good to feel totally free.  I will join in with you in this.  I need to get 30 pounds off that I have never lost.  My goal was to be 30 pounds smaller than I am right now.   I am just tickled for you and I know I know...this is your year.  I hope we can get together soon.  I need to tell you and Lucy a couple of things..  I love y'all!!!!!
