Hugs for Thursday

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.   (1 Peter 2:9)

We do not receive feelings of self-worth by standing in front of a mirror and repeating to ourselves, "I am worthy, I am worthy, I am worthy."  We acquire feelings of self-worth when we stand in front of the cross and come to the realization of the greatest truth of all time, "I am worthy because God says I am worthy.  I am worthy because Jesus died in my place for my sins so that I might live in eternity with God." We have been called from the darkness into His awesome light!!!
