Update On Me
I think that I may have told some of you about my surgery and I know that I posted that I was having surgery but never posted what kind. Some things I just don't like to post. My surgery was not WLS related and had nothing to do with my gastric bypass. I had been told years ago that I had a hiatal hernia and never had any problems. This past fall I mentioned to Dr. Freemans nurse that I was having reflux to the point of coughing all night and not able to sleep good. We as gastric bypass is not supposed to have reflux. She got me in and he scoped me and found a big hiatal hernia. Along with the reflux I was also having some epigastric pain and after a severe bout in the grocery store we decided it was time. So on Jan 4 I had the hernia repaired. While in the process of taking down some adhesion I had a bleeder that had to be clamped. While in recovery I was given meds to bring my blood pressure back up. After I got to my room it continued to get very very low and I required 2 units of blood. I actually got up this morning feeling the best I have in over a week. It is just going to take me some time to recoup. Now for the good part I see him again on February 15 and we leave on our cruise on the 20. The good part is, if I am released I am going to go parasailing on the cruise. I have been reading ever day but not posting, I am going to make OH my home page and not Facebook. We need each other to reach our goals and to stay at goal. Love all of you.
Glad things are going well for you! I hope Dr Freeman releases you, parasailing is awesome... Jerry and I have done it 3 times now. Its such a smooth ride and amazing views! - And if it makes you feel any better both beaches we have done it at you do not even have to swim they pull you down about waist deep in water and back out and your never really in the water more than a few seconds. Its so much fun though! - Take a water proof camera and take pics!
So glad you're doing better....its amazing how surgery can wipe you out like that. My mom had issues with a hiatel hernia for years...seems to be fixed now, after more than one procedure, but I do know from her experience that they aren't easy to deal with. Here's hoping you get to parasail off that boat!
Louise, I am glad that things are better. I wanted to go parasailing, but someone told me that it jerked on your back. I know we are going to have an awesome cruise. There are few of us, but most everyone I have spoken with just wants to relax and rest this time and soak it up. I would love to get me some serious reading in. You take care of you.
Well, excuseeeeeeeeeeeeeee me. I have no intention of resting or letting anyone else rest either. I don't intend to sleep the whole time I'm on the boat. I lost five pounds this week getting ready for my bikini. Well, everybody needs a good laugh. The joke around here is what do you get when you cross a bulldog and a racoon. You get Miss Mary who had her upper teeth pulled and a full plate put in(last Tuesday) I had two of the prettiest black eyes and the pudiest little jaws. Everybody wanted to pinch my little cheeks. But I went back to the dentist today and had some adjustments made and I feel human now. I'm counting the days. Rest now or rest later. Not during the cruise. I know I promised JuJu I would behave but I can't believe she actually though I was serious. Looking forward to next month. Love, Miss Mary
