Oh No, Let me explain
Thanks for all the PM's and e-mails. First let me explain. In 2000 I did have ovarian cancer. The type I had was rarely found until it was in terminal stage. Mine was found in an extremely early stage. I had extensive surgery and some chemotherapy. I was TOTALLY healed. I was even able to have my WLS 18 months later which changed my life. I am still cancer free.
What I DO have is severe rheumatoid arthritis. Nearly 15 years ago I began taking an injectionable chemo agent for my RA called Methotrexate. After that appeared to not be working as well and my joints began to deteriorate an IV drug called Remicaid was added. It is also a chemo agent. So many years of IV infusions and blood draws have weakened my veins and I can no longer support the IV's.
My arms ulcerated from the numerous sticks. A port is no longer an option for me. After much conversation with my family and my rheumatologist we have come to the decision to stop the infusions for a while to let my veins strengthen.
No cancer, just rheumatoid arthritis that is being treated by the best rheumatologist in the world!

Hi Gwen,
First let me say that it is great to see you beautiful face on the Bama Board...a sight for sore eyes!!
Now...THANK GOD there is no cancer!!! Thanks for letting us know about the misunderstanding! Of course Rheumatoid Arthritis is no walk in the park!!
My MIL has it and she also takes Remicaid. I am so sorry to hear that your veins have taken such a beating. I will keep you in my prayers. I know what it is going to mean for you not to be able to get those infusions for a while. I will pray for a relief in the pain without the infusions. God is able.
See you on FB...do you still Farkle?
