New Years Gift - too funny

Went back and saw the surgeon yesterday since I keep having healing problems that are annoying and concerning (as opposed to disasterous) and wanted to be sure I was treating myself correctly.

So here I am, laying on the table and the surgeon is pushing really hard into my groin ..... and he says "you are so boney and stoic, I can't tell if I am hurting you:  please say something."

LOL, I had to laugh, I am BONEY?  Whatever!  Those are words I had not thought I would hear in my lifetime.

And stoic?  I know so many who would disagree with that one too.  I just want a solution so I can get out of the wound care business.

So, between getting healing advice/direction and the Rose Bowl (I love the Ducks as they are my childhood state team, but I just moved from Ohio ... could be an internal conflict!), I am good to go for New Years!

What are y'all doing for New Years?

Life is too short to eat vanilla ice cream and dance with boring men.

Isn't it great to feel bone!!!!  The first time I actually felt some bones, I thought something was wrong LOL.  I will be cooking for the kids on New Years Day.  That's about it.  I have been trying to find a church close by that is having a nigh****ch service tomorrow night.  You have you a great great New Year!!!!

Hope you begin to heal up quickly!
Isn't it funny/odd how our mindset still thinks of ourselves as one way when we have changed so much with our WLS?  I bet you ARE boney!
BTW...thank you for the Christmas card.  It was nice to come home to.
We are traveling up to north AL on New Year's Eve night...and if we get there in time, we are going to meet a few of my old high school friends (from years and years ago) that I have not seen in a very long time.  We are going to meet them and their spouses to sing karaoke...if my mom & Sonny agree to watch Jess for an hour or so.  If not, we will spend the evening, at my mom's house ringing in the New Year!
New Year's Day we are just hanging out with my parents (if my mom doesn't work), and I will go to the hair salon too.  I know we will do some shopping as well.  I don't plan to cook that day as I am at home at Momma's house...but, if Momma asks me to cook, I will.
On Saturday, the 2nd, we are going to Dalton's 1st birthday party.  That is the reason we are going to north AL.
Happy 2010 to ya!

A few months after my surgery I was in the shower and starting feeling several lumps in my upper chest, just below the neck.  They didn;t go away and I ran frightened to the doctor.  There is a major history of cancer in my family.  After examining the questionable lumps the Doc grinned at me and said, "Relax, John.  That's your collar bone."

Two of my cousins and I will be going to the Dallas Symphony and then out to eat on New Year's Eve.  We will then stay over at one of my cousin's apartment and come back to Cleburne the next day.  My 18 cousins and I have decided to have a potluck dinner to honor one of our cousins who has just come from California for the first time in many years.  We are all looking forward to it.
