I am on my 6 month diet with my PCP.  I have gained weight and not lost weight.  Has anyone been turned down by not losing weight on the 6 month diet?  I have 2 more months left.  I am really trying, but I am worried about it.  Any feedback would be great!

my thought would be that not losing on a diet would be even more reason that you need the surgery. i already had my diet stuff out of the way when i got to my bariatric surgeon, and i had yo-yoed with my weight too. hope it all works well for you. i am praying :)

That is my thought, but my PCP says that may say I need to lose some type of weight beforehand.  So, I wanted to know if anyone else had run into this.

Thanks for the prayers!  I defintely need them.  I am praying that I am able to get this surgery as well!

When I did mine, I was up and down.  I think I lost 2 pounds in six months.  However, I know people who have gained all throughout the 6 months.  I wish you all the best!!!

I did not lose any weight on my 6 month diet either. stayed the same. May 7th 2007 now lost 118 lbs. after WLS.  Everybody is different some do and some dont lose weight. Try not to worry. Froggy

thanks.  I've gone from 168 to 175 now...on my 6 month diet!  I hope they don't turn me down because of this.  We've gone on several vacations and it is almost like I am having a last meal complex or something.  Thanks

I didn't lose weight.  However, I did make sure that there was a record of consulting with a dietitian.  They also turned me down the first time because the PCP had not taken weight, height, and BP each time.  In addition, he has to have it in the record that he has reviewed your weight program and advised you.  If any of this is left out, then they will deny you.  If you can consult with a dietitian and have that in your record that is a plus.  I did Weigh****chers, had my PCP monitor, etc. and it still took 18 months because of little glitches in the medical record.

thanks.  I am going to ask my pcp to get me an appointment with a nut or diet. at my next appointment in Jan.  I wonder if it matters that  i have not seen a nut. or diet. the entire 6 months. ??
