Christmas is over...Exercise and Eating Plans
Now, that Christmas is over, it is time to immediately go back on your eating and exercise plan. A little lapse yesterday and the day before is expected, but getting back into your routine as quickly as possible is the best way to keep those pounds off. Let the rest of the family eat the left overs or develop ways to use them that fix your eating plan.
Don't forget to take a little walk today, even if it is just to the mall to see what is on sale. Just take a few laps around the mall for every store your are going in...get that exercise in.

Took a walk to the mail box...probably 1/8 mile...but at least I got up LOL. My daughter bought me a heated throw and oh my...it is awesome. I do not want to move LOL. I have to get with it also. That is my goal for the next 3 months...to do exercise of some type and become more strict on my food.
You have you a great day, Karla!!!

Getting into a structured exercise program is a part of my plan for the New Year. My employer offers as a huge benefit, a very nice fitness center at a very affordable rate--so I have no excuse! It wil probably be February before I can begin, but it is definately on my agenda.
Good Luck to you as you work on getting right back on track!

You don't need a huge benefit package or a nice fitness center to start that exercise program. You just need a comfortable pair of shoes to walk in....so start that agenda now with just a few extra steps. You can park a little farther way in the parking lot...I know, I have handicapped parking, and I do this these days....and take the stairs rather than the elevator. Just a lot of little ways to get that exercise in. Did you know that people who actually have their filing cabinets away from their desk, so that they have to get up and walk to them, build in enought exercise to lose 20 pounds over the course of a year? Start the simple things now and don't wait until February.
No, you don't have to have the nice fitness center, but if it is available, why not make use of it?
And, yes, walking is excellent exercise. One that can even be very enjoyable--but you MUST have good feet to put in those comfortable shoes to make it happen. (I have the shoes in the closet already)
I spent Christmas Eve morning having major surgery on my left foot and am casted and totally non weight bearing on it for about six to eight weeks--thus my putting off any exercise program until them. Talked it over with the surgeon and he reccomends that I wait prior to beginning a program, so I am thinking I better go with what he says.
For today, I am just trying to figure out a way to get out of the house and make a trip to the Body and Bath Store to hit their After Christmas sale.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and that your New Year is filled with fun and happiness.

Karla I threw out all the leftover Christmas dinner tonight. Now as far as the exercise, I do have an excuse for waiting till February. got to get this surgery over with first. January 4th will be here before I know it. It would not be so bad if I did not have to do the prep, clear liquids for 2 days and then the dreadful awful Mag Citrate. Some of us will do anything to put off exercising.
Yeppers, that is definitely a strong resistance to exercise. But I know that you will try to go back to it as soon as you can and your doctor allows it. In the meantime, I am sure you are looking at little ways to maintain the level of strength and tone that you have now without causing further damage to your body. Throwing out those left overs was a good move.
I was surprised that when I had my surgery that the doctor had me basically pump my feet to help keep me active. And with nearly all surgeries these days, they have you up and walking as soon as possible. I guess the only ones that I have heard about that they are keeping you as still as possible for these days are those that have to do with retina surgery and maybe some other eye surgeries. I know one of my colleagues had to lay face down for hours for a very long time following eye surgery. In his case, he was excused from exercise...heeheeheeheehee.
Playing ball and chasing the dog has supplied me with a lot of exercise that I had not intended to take at this time of year with this cold weather. I even had to go out and play in the snow with her.
