What are you eating today?

I haven't eaten anything yet.   I am going to make scrambled eggs and biscuits for hm Dad.  I have not planned beyond that...which is where I get into trouble...not planning ahead what i will eat for the day.

The information that I read a few months ago in one of the many Weight Loss books that I was reading said that those who were most successful ate the same thing everyday for every meal. Then when they went to special events or had special meals the aftermath was greatly reduced.  Also with a boring and routine meal plan, you don't have to worry about over eating.  I am not sure how I feel about this idea or even if I would recommend it...but we all can use different strategies.

B: Scramble egg and a dinner roll.
L:  Forgot to eat
Supper:  Mexican Pork chop, mashed potatoes, fried apples and chocolate bundt cake.  Most likely will have a salad of some sort.  Probably a carrot and cheese salad.

LIne a shallow pan or cookie sheet with foil.  Salt and pepper your pork chops and lay on foil...do not stack them.  Then you place one slice of green pepper, onion and Kraft American cheese on each one.  Seal another piece of foil over the top and put in a 375 degree oven until done.  The cheese will melt and give you a sort of sauce over the whole thing.  You can either eat the peppers and onions or not...depending on what you like.  I cannot tell you exactly how long to cook them, because it depends on the size and thickness of your pork chops.  This is an easy way to cook them, men usually like them, and you can do other stuff while they cook.  It is not an exact science.

My day was bad as it always is here lately.
B-oatmeal
L-lasagna and some salad
D-slice of pizza.

I do agree with the planning thing. If i dont plan i FAIL. simple as that. Im also thinking that getting into a boring routine might be good for me. Im about to start trying it. Maybe if i get use to eating the same things every day i wont crave the bad things?

Craving bad things can be because of emotional issues not hunger.  If you are feeling unloved, you will most likely crave chocolate.  If that happens, then reduce the harm by eating really dark chocolate.  Chocolate does have a chemical effect on the brain that is similar to being loved...so some cravings have a real reason.

Other "comfort" foods are so because of what you associatie with them.  My mother made me potatoe soup when I was sick...so when I am not feeling well, I crave potatoe soup.  Look at what kind of bad things that you are craving and what you associate with them, and that might help you realize what it wrong and what you need to do.

Then sometimes, you just need to eat that one bad thing and forgive yourself ..and move on to eating well again.  Mostly the worse thing you can do is to beat yourself up over it.
