Good Thanksgivng Morning
Happy Thanksgiving to my Bama Board family and friends!!! I hope you are blessed with a day full of love, laughter and time spent with family and or friends. I hope you take this day to recognize and feel all the things you have to be thankful for. With the economy the way it has been, I think we all tend to think about the negative things in our life sometimes. May I be so bold as to challenge US all to focus on what we have to be Thankful for.
1. I am thankful for God sending His Son, Jesus Christ to die for my sins so that I may be forgiven and for Jesus for saying yes!
2. I am thankful for my DH Richard and my children, Ricky and Natalie and for my DSIL Joseph and my grandsons Owen, Ethan and Austin and that they are all healthy and they live close to me so that I can be with them during the holidays and all year 'round.
3. I am thankful that I have a job.
4. I am thankful that I have a home.
5. I am thankful for my sisters and brother, my sisters in law, and brothers in law, neices and nephews, cousins and aunts...
6. I am thankful that I was blessed to have WLS 5 years ago and that I am no longer morbidly obese and I am healthy and able to physically do almost whatever any 56 year old woman can do and more than alot!
7. I am thankful for Dr. Steve Weinstein who performed my WLS, Dr. Michael Ledet *****commended I have the surgery and takes care of my health needs still, and to the other doctors, nurses, and physician assistants who attend to my health needs.
8. I am thankful that I live in a FREE country where I can worship God in anyway I choose, where I not only have freedom of religion, but freedom of speech and freedom to do almost anything I choose.
9. I am thankful for the men and women who are spending Thanksgivng away from home in a foreign land so that I can enjoy the above mentioned freedoms!
10. I am thankful for this Bama Board...a place where I can come and share my struggles and journey through a life dealing with weight issues. A place where I know others relate to me and my feelings and needs.
Well, now that I have posted my TOP 10 THANKS, here is a little poem I stole off a guys website and a few Thanksgiving funnies I found and wanted to share with you. The funnies I wanted to share, would not paste to the page so I can't share! Here's the stolen poem anyway...
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!
