Monday hugs
Sending out hugs on this awesome Monday morning. It is going to be a great day today. You all have a great one. Has anyone ever hurt you badly and you did not know what to do, or have you been so afraid of a situation and had no clue how to "fix" it? The book of Esther gives us a perfect example of what we should do in those situations. The Jews were triumphant over what would have been their destruction. On the day that the Jews would have been destroyed by the edict sent out by an evil man named Haman, it was a day of celebration for the Jews instead of a day of mourning. God did turn the tables for them. This did not come easily, though. When Esther realized that Haman was going to destroy her people, she and the Jews fasted for three days and sought God. They did not just say a quick prayer and expect results...they were serious. All too often I have ran in the bedroom and said a quick prayer and expected God to just do something right then. However, I have learned that God expects us to understand things. He gave us the Word to read and to go by. I got to thinking one day, never have I read where it tells me to say a quick prayer and think things will be ok. Most prayers that have been answered have taken time and much prayer. I used God at times just as I have used fast food places....as a drive through. I didn't have time to sit at the table with Him...just rush through, grab it and go. He wants to enjoy our company. He wants to hear from His children and spend quality time with them. As in Esther, God does things His way, but we have to do our part and we have to be serious.
