Help Afraid of weight gain!

I was recently put on prednisone for sarcoidosis, and now I'm always hungry. Worse, I'm hungry for the wrong things, I want pizza all the time. I don't  eat it of course when I do eat a slice it's just the toppings, but I notice I'm eating more I'm not getting full and I'm getting hungry more often. I need some suggestions for healthy snacks I'm hungriest at night especially between 10pm-12am I'm an insomniac. I'm always wanting something cheesy. I'm worried I may have stretched my pouch because I'm not getting full like I used too. I'm scared I want to be healthy and I feel I'm losing touch.
Thanxs, Amy

Amy,

Have to attended any of the by-pass meetings that the Huntsville Hospital Wellness center has? There are so many folks there who I'm sure will have wonderful suggestions. It may also be worth it to call Linda at the Hsv. Hos. Wellness Center about it to. She's a wonderful lady who knows her stuff about the needs of WLS patients.

Sorry that I'm not much help.

Hey Amy,

I feel you.  Perhaps the doc who put you on the steroids can help with this issue in terms of suggestions.  White knuckling it is hard ... and steroids put an actual craving in your lap.  Is there something else you can do that doesn't include eating but would make you happy at that time of night?

I'm so sorry to hear that they decided on the sarcoidosis diagnosis.  Does the treatment at least make you feel somewhat better with those symptoms?

Janice

The steroids actually make me feel worse, but they insist it's the only thing that will help not to mention it's putting my blood sugars in the 350's and they don't want me taking meds, I'm so hungry for cheese.

Amy, I second Noel's suggestion to call Linda Steakley at the HSV Wellness Center.  She is a very good nutrionist and is very kind as well.  I'm sure you will not be the first one she has had to help in such a situation.  I don't know if you've ever been to her WLS support meetings, but she is good.  I feel for you!  I hate steriods.
