It is with great sorrow I tell you of the loss of Renee A. , I Ride My Harley from Alabama.
Many of you will remember her as the sweet, gentle woman who fought hard to overcome a bad RNY surgery. That was finally corrected, but she had what was finally diagnosed as chronic osmotic diarreha. She stayed malnourished and suffered many serious infections. She had her corrective surgery at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and recently was treated at Vanderbilt. She died of infection.
Renee had a disabling heart condition when she had her RNY, it is why she had it. She needed to lose weight. Sadly, her heart trouble was not lessened by her weight loss.
Renee leaves behind her husband Chris, a son about 22, a son DJ around 18, a first grade son, and a daughter about 4 named Reena, her mother and a grandchild. Her mother lost her husband, Renee's dad, last year and her son, Renee's brother, this May.
Renee and I were real time friends. She was a strong, warm, funny person. We spent many hours on the phone. She had a lot of love to give. I miss her already.
She didn't regret having gastric bypass, just her choice of surgeons. Please read her profile for more information on her surgery. http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/i_ride_my_harley/

Carmen,
Thank you for posting that. I was really hoping it was just really bad info I got this morning. I know she fought a long hard fight.
Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends
