Ok y'all need some advice... I can't eat much of anything. No dairy period...no meat ..no wheat...no cereals too many carbs... instant potatoes go in and down but useless calories...peanut butter ok but high in fat... refried beans one tea spoon goes down. but thats it. I fell like I am not getting in the right foods or enough of them. two times yesterday food came back if you know what I mean...I am off track on vitamins and everything... I was sick for the past 4 days with a really bad cold but i need food suggestions if you have them  thanks...

You are doing good, mashed potatoes, refried beans, that is protein. (beans) you have to get used to your tummy being small. you cant eat much. I did eat a lot of applesauce, its good. I still cant do the milk or eggs. You will be fine. Froggy

Mendy, it is really too early for you to be so concerned about carbs.  You have got to get used to eating and learn how your pouch works.  I ate mashed potatoes and mashed beans and peas really well.  Soups are also good.  My surgeon would not let me take pills until I was like 3 months out.  I did the Flintstones until then.  I ate yogurt also.  That has protein and goes down well.  Hope you figure it out...I know you will, it just takes time

Did you use up those protein things we got at our last support meeting?  If you want/need some more, I haven't used mine and would gladly meet up with you and give them to you.

You are doing fine.  There isn't a whole lot you can eat early in the game.  Keep it light and don't try to push the limits...it only comes back up.  I had to learn that lesson over and over before it finally sunk in.  At  a year and nine months out, I still push the limits sometimes...not often though.  Eat what you can and don't worry about the rest.  You will eventually be able to eat more normally, I promise.

Everyone gave good advice. Not much I can add. Why no dairy?  Are you allergic.  Cottage cheese is an excellent source of protein (especially early)  4 oz has 12g protein.  Low in calories (2%) has 90 calories.  I mixed it with SF strawberry Jello Powder--Just mixed the powder right in the cottage cheese and let it sit in the fridge.  It was good and went down easy--but I have no allergies.

How are you doing on protein shakes?  Good source of nutrition with few calories--goes down pretty easy, depending on the brand.

thank you thank you thank you...I got some new protein drinks today. much better I just cant do the dairy at all.  i had some beans and nut butter and it went down ok. I suppose I worry about not getting in enough of what I am suppose to eat...with out meat and dairy I am not sure what to do. its been my diet all my life. I don't need beef or dairy every again in my life and I will learn to exchange them for other things to eat. still going thru separation anxiety I guess... LOL
