Good Friday morning Alabama Board----
It is FRIDAY. Another week made--some football to watch this week end (I am hoping for better results there). I have appts today so 1) I am not going to get to make it to the gym :( and 2) I am going to have to weigh today and am kind of nervous if I am still plateau.
In my devotion this morning the thing that came to my heart was we need the eyes of Jesus on us and we need to listen to the voice of the Savior, Jesus. As Carmen said earlier--we get so caught up in the day to day that we (yours truly especially) forget to listen to Him and to assure his eyes are on you.
I like meditation. Reading the word and then meditating on what was said--giving God time to talk to your heart. A wise pastor, that I know, once said that when we read the Word we should apply the three S principle.
1. Sit--Set aside some time where you will not be interrupted. Sit down and read the Word.
2. Sort--Sort through your life compared to what you have read, Is there something that is missing or could be added?
3. Soak--Take the time to just pause and soak in the spirit of God. Open your mind and let His Spirit speak to your heart..
This was impressed on me several years ago and this morning I think my shortcoming is not making enough time to listen to the voice of Jesus.
He is a video of a song that I think says it better than I could.
