Frustrated....
I went for my first visit to the Montgomery, AL WLS support group on Narrow Lane Road tonight. I called the contact twice and left a voicemail to verify I had the correct date. My calls were not returned and they did not have any out of office response. So, I took off work early, got a baby sitter and drove 1.5 hours in very bad weather to get there.
No one was there. Finally, about 5 people showed up. They had not heard it was canceled either. There was no note. Someone said they usually received a cancel notice through the email distribution list but had not heard anything about the meeting being canceled.
This was supposed to count toward my 2 meetings I have to have before surgery. I am very frustrated.
Now, I do know there are all sorts of possibilities of why it was canceled. I hope the organizers are okay and I hope nothing bad happened as a reason for the no show. I am sure the people in charge are great people. I am just frustrated and dissapointed.
They only have these 1 time a month and I need 2 before my surgery. They aren't having any in Dec. So, this is a major set back for me.
I am hoping my surgeon will count this for me. We will see.

It's at UAB Health Center. 4371 Narrow Lane Road ; Suite 200 (You have to go around to the very back of the building.)
