Hello,
I had gastric bypass 8 years ago, lost over 200 lbs and have gained much of it back over the years.  I am now in worse shape than I was when I had the surgery.  I have severe osteoarthritus in my hip and knees and walking is extermely difficult.
I have been researching revision surgery and would like to find a surgeon in AL who does revisions or the DS surgery.  If anyone has any information, it would be much appreciated.

I would NOT revise to anything BUT a DS, and I wouldn't trust any doctor in AL to do a REVISION to DS, as it is extremely complicated.  Husted in KY is probably your best bet.  Post this on the DS forum for more advice.

At one point I had also thought about a revision but you know what? I found out that my tool does still work. Of course, I found out the hard way. Last August I developed breast cancer and the chemo took my appetite away. I lost about 40 pounds while going through chemo but my stomach has shrunk again and I am trying my best to watch what I eat. I gained back up to close to 250 before the cancer. I had given up hope of losing it again. My downfall was bad food choices, especially cokes and Sour Patch Kids. I never was able to do rich foods so that was not a problem. Just snacking constantly. I honestly wish that I had gone through some type of counseling before my surgery. I allowed stress and old habits to detour me from my original goal. It's going on 9 months since my last chemo session and I'm still managing my weight.

I wish I had an answer for you on the revision but LeaAnn sounds like she knows what she's talking about so you might want to check with the DS Board.

Sorry LeaAnn, I just noticed that I replied to your post instead of the original poster. Hopefully she'll still read it.
