Whats for breakfast!
I can not believe that I have an appetite. I think I am going to try a cup of decaf coffee this morning. this is my second morning home. yesterday was hard getting in all those meds and vitamins. I was constantly crushing something and sticking it in applesauce. Any advice on those B complex... they are nasty when you take them out of the capsule. Will I be able to swallow them someday? anyway. glad its over and glad to be home. I have had a short night. I can only get in about 6 hours of sleep and I still have a cough. my tummy and back are sore from coughing. I have great lungs. never never never get chest cold or anything like that. Not sure why I have a dry cough and it wont go away. taking children's triaminic cold strips.. they didn't really work just made me feel nervous. no wonder kids are so cranky when they are sick the meds will drive them up the walls... I am a person who can not tolerate drugs. no pain med period. Praise God this has been pretty much a painless surgery. I have liquid tylanol for bedtime if I need it. well I guess I am going to go and make that cup of decaf coffee..can't wait for the next few months to pass its going to be interesting.
Well since my blood sugar was 203 this morning i didn't want to eat carbs (malt o meal) so i made scrambled egg,, no no no,,,, LOL not feeling well with that. its been an hour I cant seem to sip water without a sense of pressure then it moves down. Feels like I ate dry hard meat.. I can not imagine what roast or pork chops would do... yikes probably never eat those again...going back to liquids for the day. Dr says phase three. I say phase two...I will try the chicken again on Sunday.

Hey there Mendy. So glad to hear from you. Yep...things will get back to normal. Just take advantage of these 12 - 18 months ahead. That is when most of your weight will drop. Don't worry about anything. As long as you do as your WL surgeon says, you will do great.
Mendy...will you please email or pm me your last name?? I have lost it I guess.
You take care and have an awesome day!!!

Some of the things that worked well for me (and everyone is different...so you'll need to experiment) were egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad and shrimp salad....I chopped them very fine with my Magic Bullet. Does your surgeon tell you to use protein shakes? Mine did not---whatever you do, just do what the doctor says, call them with your concerns and keep on talking to us on the board....you'll be fine as wine (but don't have any wine.....not yet!)

This morning I had one egg scrambled--using cooking spray and the "lean meat' off two pieces of bacon.
As you get further out you pouch will tolerate more of a variety of foods. My surgeon demands we continue using protein shakes/supplements until we have lost all our weight.
As the Lost Texan says--sip, sip, sip, and chew chew chew--follow your surgeon's advice.
