Your yearly bariatric surgeon check ups?  Just wondering how many stick to it.  I'm over 7 years post op and I'm going in next month for my 7 year check up.  I've never missed one.  No, not one.  I made a promise to my surgeon and to myself to comply with annual check ups and I feel they are very important in our well being as WLS patients.  DO you comply?  Or are you a slacker?  If you are a slacker, it's NOT too late,  Call your surgeon Monday morning and make that appointment.  Only your surgeon knows the blood tests that need to be run and understands our bodies fully after we've had our stomachs altered.  I believe with all my heart that by following my doctors orders and keeping in touch with him has helped make me the success that I am today.  I owe my life to Dr. Dewitt and to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior for this life saving surgery.  What about you?  With something to think about, make it a great day or not.....the choice is yours.

It was wonderful meeting you too.  Hey, Lisa and I are coming up to Dr. Dewitt's on 10/7.  Do you have an appt around that time?  Would love to see you again.

I GO! I believe in keeping those appointments. I too am to thankful to God, my surgeon and his staff, and my insurance that provided me the opportunity to have a more healthy and enjoyable life. I don't take it for granted. I actually go more than once a year due to having the band and needing adjusments from time to time. I'm averaging about twice each year these days. I love to go though and see the smile on their faces when they see my progress. Even when I'm not doing so great it motivates me when I go.
Great Post!

My trick right now has been convincing the surgeon in this are that I need to come in for check ups starting next March.  They have a support group that I am going to on Monday, so maybe regular attendance in that will help me help them understand.

I wish you the best of luck.  You truly need those annual exams to keep a close check on your labs and everything else.

This is kinda scary....not many responses to this post, so I am assuming that many do NOT go back for their ANNUAL bariatric exams.  I hope that I am WRONG.  It's so very important.  Don't take your WLS for granted.
