Sending out hugs on this awesome Thursday morning.  You all have a great day.  I love ya!!!

So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?"  As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread.  As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die."   Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.   For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'"  She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.  For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.   1 Kings 17: 10-16)

How often I have missed a blessing because I did not obey due to fear.  Here, Elijah is telling the widow that if she will obey and do as God has commanded, she will never run out of flour or oil.  Often, when we have to step out on faith and do something that we are told to do by our Heavenly Father, we are afraid because we don't understand how we can do this.  By exhibiting that act of faith, this widow's flour and oil never ran dry.  Also, her son's life was given back in the next few verses.  Elijah obeyed God, the widow obeyed God and God blessed them all.  He is still on the throne and knows exactly what we need to do to receive what we need.  Today, I pray that I am obedient and never disobedient.  I don't want to miss out on the blessings of God.   When we give from our hearts, in love, without expectation, we are always blessed.

Carmen,

I guess I can still say good morning even though it is the next morning...barely.  It's 12:04 a.m. on Friday.  I'n sending hugs
back to you.

I love this scripture on FAITH...such a beautiful word.  A word I think we throw around sometimes too easily.  Someimes we think we have faith...until the Lord asks us to step out and do something we find frightening, even terrifying!!  That is the true test of Faith and I know for myself...I have probably failed more often than I have succeeded in the Faith Department.

Thank you for this beautiful, Scriptural reminder!  I love you.

PS...I KNOW your witness video had to have gone well.  When I ready your interpretation of the Scriptures you share with your hugs, I hear the Lord speaking to me!!  God bless you Carmen!!

Christ's peace,
