UPDATE

Thank you to all of you who prayed for my earlier request.   It all went very smoothly.  She was very calm and though it was heartbreaking for all of us, she went with the deputies.   As far as we know, she is in court right now.  One of our co-workers has walked over to the courthouse to see if he can find out what is going on and how she is.  To let her know we love her and are praying for her.

Please continue to pray.  She has a long road ahead of her.  I went into the cubicle where she has been working to clean things up a little and when checking the computer found some very disturbing letters she has been writing to officials here in the city about research she thinks people are doing to her after drugging her and taking her from the homeless shelter.   Obviously she thinks this has been going on for years and these people have been stalking her and following her from state to state and include some high profile National leaders.  It is so very sad.  We have been suspecting some multiple personality disorder.  Every letter or document she had written had been recovered, like when your computer goes down and it is automatically saved or recovered for you.  In some of her letters she said that someone keeps tampering with her 'evidence' and letters on the computer so she has to keep saving it to her flash drive and moving it to other computers.  She does have a laptop.  I won't touch that since it is her own personal property.  We have a counselor in our office who said that she had been suspecting another personality and it could be that personality who has been tampering with her things.  There were some really bizarre things that she thinks are happening to her.

The saddest part is, they will evaluate her here at a local hospital, but in order to get her on the right medication and regulate her, they will end up having to send her to Searcy, the State hospital and it is...excuse my language, nothing short of a hell hole!!  It has the worse reputation for how patients are treated.  The sad part is, it is the only place we have.  The majority of the staff allegedly treat the patients poorly and patients have allegedly been physically violated.    We have a friend of the office who is a schizophrenic who has won awards for her advocacy for the mentally ill.  She has been in the system for 38 years and is so intelligent and is on the right medication and has been educated and goes to Washington DC to speak before committees on Mental Illness.  She leads a support group for Schizophrenics and has won the Clifford W. Beers Award from Mental Health America...a National Award.  She has been there earlier in her illness and she says it is awful.  We're hoping she will be able to talk to Leslie and help her to know she needs to work with the Doctors and accept that she has to take her medication.  I know this is going on too long, but it is tearing my heart up to know the pain...first hand by reading these documents.  I almost wish I hadn't seen them, but I guess I am glad that I did so that I understand her pain and I can specifically pray to God about what she is feeling.

Thanks again for 'listening' and especially for praying.  I forgot to ask for prayers for my boss' husband while he is going through his heart cath.  Janice did mention him specifically this morning.  Please add Michael to your prayer list also.  I'd better get back to the budget cuts.  Love you all.

Christ's peace,

Connie,

all that and budget cuts too?  The fun meter must be pegged!

I do have a very close relative with disassociative personality disorder (the new PC name for multiple personalities or schizophrenia) with the paranoid component.  What you described of this lady sounds much like what my relative goes through when she stops taking her meds.... which is often what happens because they are so darned expensive for the good ones and Haldol does make you feel like you are in a stupor, apparently.  If you or your coworkers need a first hand what it's like to live with this in the family or organization, let me know.
