Tuesday hugs

But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.  Then the LORD sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.  (Jonah 1:3-4)

How many times I have headed for Tarshish only to be hit by a storm and be swallowed up by a"fish".  You know...it is so easy to follow the commands of the Lord, but so often I have found myself deciding that I would rather go my way because I did not like the person or place God was sending me.  Jonah wanted God to destroy the Ninevites.  He did not like them.  However, God called Jonah and told him to go into Ninevah and preach.  He decided to go to Tarshish.   It would be so much easier for us to just surrender and do as we are commanded rather than fight what we don't like.  We might find out that we really do care for that person or place if only we accept that call and go.  And as in this case, it may be their last warning. 

Good morning my friend!  This one was for ME today!  I obeyed God yesterday and did exactly what He said.  When I did, I felt the load lift off of me!  Sure did feel good too.  If we would only obey Him and listen to Him to start with, we would save ourselves some trouble!  LOL

You can't run or hide from the Lord he's always there. Sometimes I think we forget that.
We want to run and hide and then we hear the whisper try to tuck it back but it's still present.
Great verse to share today. I know exactly where I am passing this on to. Sometimes people run and run and then they are exhausted. I often wonder why people run from the best gift they could ever receive? from the most overwhelming love that it's too much to contain.
