Friday Hugs

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.   (Romans 14:1-4)

You know, for years, I thought there was a cookie cutter type of Christianity.  However, I found out the hard way, there is not.  What one person wears may not be something I could wear or what another person does may not be something I am comfortable doing or what I might do may not be something someone else does, and this is perfectly alright.  As long as we are all in the will of God and doing what is right in His eyes, that is all that matters.  We are not to judge another by how he does, what he wears, or how he speaks.  The Bible tells us we will know them by the fruits they bear, but it does not tell us to cut that fruit open and take it apart.  I was in a religion years ago and was under bondage because of all the things we could not do.  I have learned what I need to do is ask God what His will is for my life and He will show me.  It is His job to judge, not mine.  Look for the good in each person you meet.  I promise you, it is there.

I am going to look for the good (over the phone today) In all I deal with today; and look up every day and notice. I am trying to do that now and pay close attention to the people God is placing in my path. Sometimes we think they aren't someone we would hang around with or be friends with not realizing GOD is using us to change their lives so they can come to him.
How can you bring someone to God or reach someone if you don't know who they are?
You are so right about the cookie cutter Christian. No one is perfect and I want to be a Christ follower. I can remember a time not wearing jeans to church. I told my pastor I have actually been told "I have nothing to wear to church". My reply is always " God doesn't care what you wear you cares about YOU; after all Jesus wore sandals!" :)

You are so right.  And you know, sometimes our lives are changed by others, also.     I know that if I am in the grocery line and the cashier has a nasty attitude, I try to realize that maybe she is having severe problems in her life; maybe she does not know the peace of God; or maybe there is something there that my smile or a "you have an awesome day today" could help.  You never know.  God uses all kinds of situations to deal with us.  I know that I had a heartbreaking situation that has caused my faith to grow and my knees to be used a bit more.  He is so ever faithful!!!    I love you!!!! 

Great post my friend. The following story reminds me of you.

A woman, Ruth, lived in a small town. She loved the Lord and tried to live her life the way the Lord wanted her to. She had a reputation around town of never saying a bad thing about anyone. She always had something good to say about everybody she met. (Wish I was like Ruth!) Anyway, one day the vilest man ever, (Marvin) died and was to be buried the following day. People gathered at the funeral and soon whispers were heard from people wondering what in the world Ruth could say good about this scoundrel. He was a known liar, thief, drunk and no good, foul mouthed human being. The funeral began and was over before it hardly began. The minister had few words to spare for this wicked man. Everyone looked at Ruth. They just knew she was going to have to agree with everyone else. Ruth bowed her head a second then looked up with a smile forming from corner to corner of her face. She shook her head and looked the people of the town in the eye and then very slowly spoke these words: "Marvin sure could whistle good, couldn't he?"

We can all find something good to say about everyone we meet even if its something like whistling!!

Our Revival is at the end of Sept. and the Sloans will be coming then too. They sing and preach too. They are super great I hope you and John can come and anyone else that reads this post.
