Update on Diabetic Retinopathy

I went back to the retina specialist yesterday.  My cataract surgery is doing perfect and my vision is much better but will never be `100% due the the damage from diabetic retinopathy.  I have always had trouble with the Right eye.  My left eye has always been my good eye although I do have a substantial cataract in that eye as well that can be removed anytime I see fit.  I have good enough vision that it doesn't have to be done anytime soon.  It does give me trouble with night vision and driving though.  On top of everything else, the doctor found yesterday that I am having hemmorages in the back of my retina in my left eye now.  I have never had them in my left eye before, always in my right eye.  I am so disappointed.  I know it is cause from all the stress I have been under.  I will have in office laser surgery on September 30th.  Please keep me in your prayers.  It is not an extremely painful surgery but uncomfortable just the same.  I'm just thankful to still have my eyesight and the good Lord is directing my path in the right directions to get the the help that I need.  All these surgeries are taking a toll on our finances but God will see to it that we are taken care of some way, some how.  It's just been one thing after another   I am also being sent for an MRI of my R shoulder, yes, the one I had rotator cuff and bone spur surgery on 18 months ago.  My PCP wants to send me to B'ham to a specialist once we get the MRI done.  My orthopaedic surgeon here only wants to give me steroid shots, which doesn't help my diabetes any and makes me gain even more weight.  My WLS surgeon and my PCP advice agains the steroid shots at all, so we are look for alternative treatments.  The chiropractor is a joke.  Just makes me feel even worse.  So, of you would please say a prayer for me, I would deeply appreciate it so very much.

Love and hugs.

I've had the steroid shots in my elbow before for tennis elbow and was told then that they never 'heal' they just make you feel better for a while. It helps the tissue shrink which helps with the pain. So, makes sense that the PCP wants you to seek further treatment. Praying for you and your family.

BTW....LOVE the picture of you and Christian
