What a vacation!!!! I had the best time ever. We were in a little town called Hayesville, NC. We had a fish fry the first night there. Lots of friends from across the nation. These are all 18 wheel driver friends of Leo's. They are some of our best friends. Tuesday we went riding up in the mountains - in and out of some very dangerous winding roads. Up one side and down the other. Tuesday night we had a big BBQ. Every morning we ate at Waffle House with another couple that I have come to love and appreciate so much. Wednesday we rode our motorcycles to Helen, Ga. and did some shopping. I bought some t-shirts and Leo got more patches for his vest. Wednesday night we had all kinds of salads for supper - tuna, chicken, egg and green. I ate too much!!! Thursday we rode through Cherokee and ate lunch at some big fancy place out in the middle of nowhere. Talk about food - they just kept bringing it out. They would bring big pots of beans, tators, meat, etc. and dessert was the largest strawberry shortcake I've ever seen. I'm surprised Leo could hold me up on the back of the motorcycle after that meal. Thursday night we ate very little - leftover salads. Friday we rode through the mountains and over to the Dragon's Tail. I didn't ride on the motorcycle - I chose the SUV that was following. Leo dips too low in those curves and it scares the dickens out of me. Friday night we ate out at another hometown restaurant - more good food. Saturday it rained so we all stayed home. Bubba has a large wrap around porch with rocking chairs so we sat outside and watched the rain and talked for hours. It may sound boring but believe me, it wasn't. We came on home Sunday and it felt so good to see my family and my little baby Sydney. Leo's mom and dad always keep our furbaby when we are out of town. I don't think he even missed us.
Back at work on Tuesday and I had to close out the month. I've been working until 8:00 at night trying to reconcile the bank statement. Finally got it right last night. I can relax a little today.

I missed keeping up with everyone. I'll try to catch up maybe tomorrow. Today I have to do payroll and run reports. Busy, busy, busy job.

I'm glad to be back and glad I have you guys for friends.

Love,

I'm feeling great these days Hillary. Thank you for asking. I go back to the Oncologist sometime this month I think. Hopefully I'll hear those 2 words I want to hear so badly!! CANCER FREE!!

Leo hasn't been feeling real good. He's getting tired easily and out of breath. The stints worked for a while but he's back to his old problems. He needs to lose some weight and that would probably help. MEN!! You can't tell them a thing.

DEBBIE!! I am so glad you got to go and just be out to see the work of HIS hand!! I bet the moutains were just beautiful. Don't see them here. Sometimes it's just good to look around at the details and take it all in isn't it? And doesn't get any better than sharing it with friends!!!
I love you! MawMaw is finishing up radiation this week. 10 days straight in the shoulder bone socket. She got 4 tattoos. She said radiation so much better than chemo. After this they might do some areas of her spine. It is spreading all thru the bones they are trying to make her comfortable she has bad pain in one shoulder (the one they just did) and her back. She is going to remain out in San Diego with my sister! Praise God!  I will miss her but I won't worry about her living alone. My mother flew out yesterday to visit her for a week since my MawMaw will be 83 this Sunday!!!! WOOHOO!!
Pray for my sister and especially her husband. Chris took off the week and Lynn took overtime. If you knew my bio Mother you would understand!!! lol
I told Chris yesterday he's a Marine and he's physically strong but he's also emotionally strong!!
Anyway.. when are you and Leo coming to the beach again??
Shrimpfest is in October the week of the 9th.. Rhonda Crump is coming down with her family and is staying in a condo on the beach. It will be good to see her and her family. I just love her boys!! I still text one of them! lol.. I am really looking forward to spending time with them. Last time she was here last year Donna was here. What a great time we all had. Hard to believe Donna has been at home for almost a year now this month. Must be why I'm noticing all the details around me smiling all the time with such a twinkle. That and I'm getting more Engulfed in my Father! And yes, you and I both know you can always be more Engulfed!! :)
I am volunteering from October - December to help with an Alpha Class we are doing in Gulf Shores at a movie theater. I am doing hospitality and breakfast - Teddy is doing the setup and take down of the church on wheels equipment. Could you pray for us as we head into the fall? If only one person is brought to Christ it's more than worth my time!! I want people to know HIM and know they love him.
We are purchasing bibles - this may be the first bible some may have ever seen!! And what a gift that will be. This is my second Alpha course and I would do it over, and over and over!:)
Thank you for praying fo us!!! Divine Appointments too- Pray God just puts people right in our paths. And pray not only us- but others all over that our Christians are reminded to look up - to see who God has placed in your path. Sometimes it might not be the type of friend you would see yourself having but God has placed them their as he molds them!!
I love you and I continue to pray for you and well when I read your posts  I can't help but smile for my MawMaw! You are an inspiration to me! And a true comfort.

Your mawmaw has been in my prayers a lot lately. She's right about the radiation treatments. They aren't bad at all. I had 36 of them. They are more aggrivating than anything else. Having to go every day can be a pain. But, if it works then I'm all for it.

I'll definitely keep you and Teddy in my prayers. Winning souls is what life is about for the Christian. Let me share this quick tidbit:

In a beachfront community, hundreds of starfish had washed up on shore. A news crew headed down to the beach and there they saw this one man picking up starfish and throwing them back into the ocean. A reporter walked up to him and smarted off with these words - Do you really think you're going to make a difference with your pathetic attempt to save these starfish? The man looked at the reporter as he picked up another starfish and threw it back into the ocean and then he nodded his head up and down and said - Well, it made a difference to that one, didn't it?? If we can make a difference in one life then its worth any redicule, embarrassment or anything else the world may toss our way.

I love you and can't wait to see you again.

The house we stayed in had a tin roof and when it rained it was so peaceful and just beautiful. We love going up there. God's beauty is seen everywhere you look.
