Hilary???
Sorry i didnt get back to a computer. I didnt see Dr. Chandler. He retired 3 years ago, thats why i havent seen a surgeon since. I DID see Dr Suggs and i officially dont like him. He didnt seem to have time for me and thought that the weight gain was "normal" because i was so far out and didnt have any words of wisdom for me. He said "if you cut out all sugar and eat whole grains and dense protein you should lose or atleast maintain" he set me up for labs so i went to the hospital afterwards and go those done. he said he'd call with my results. I was in an out of that office in 20 minutes. i was less than thrilled and i was upset. I had gained 30lbs from my last visit 3 years ago, which i already knew. he said "normal" i say "BULLCRAP'. Its up to me and i will do this. im starting this month to plan better and do it. i know i can.
Sorry it didn't go better--it is so important to feel like your surgeon is a partner in the process. Keep looking-you'll find the right one. On an "up" note--in the world of WLS, you are a success, and I guess they look at the 30 lbs as no big deal. But it is a big deal to you, and you have the right attitude! It is up to you, and you are strong enough to conquer it. For goodness sakes, you raise your child, run your household and accomplish a host of other things every day. 30 lbs better look out--HERE YOU COME!!

thank you. im just going to do what ive done ever since Chandler retired. I'll do it on my own. Im use to doing things on my own. lol. When i asked about the nutritionist/support group things he said "that retired when dr chandler retired" we have one at parkway but thats for people that had their surgery there.... WTH??? Come again? i thought anyone could go to a support group. I understand about the nutrionist, but geez. Its ok. if he can get my labs/vits straight. I'll do the weight loss on my own. I know i can do it. i lose 10-15lbs then do something stupid and gain them back. My body likes being right at 200lbs but I DONT LIKE IT.
Hillary--I am a newbie at WLS--but a lot "longer in the tooth" than a lot of people here. In my experience, people make time for what is really important to them--and they do what they really want to do.
It takes reaching deep inside sometimes to make time to do those things we really don't like--like eating correctly and exercise and maintaining a food journal. Heck, this is new to me and it already gets old sometimes, but I still have vivid memories of what it was like to be where I was, and an extreme desire to get where I want to be.
I don't know you personally, but just from reading your post--I believe you have what it takes to reach deep inside and get to where you want to be. I sense you've done it before and you can and will do it again.
I believe in you!
I'm a newbie--but if I can help in any way--call on me.
