Frazzled ... and still pained

I'm not going to bore you with the ugly details, but yesterday was an ugly ugly ugly eating day.

I was so tired and frazzled and in pain.  Something is bothering me and I don't know what it is (it could be the back pain, it could be the new job, it could be the new guy, it could be not being settled on a church, it could be .... ad infinitum)

.... and I am catching myself giving myself permission to have "just a ..." whatever.

Tomorrow I start vacation and I am glad that I can think about what it is that is giving me a hard time such that I am jeopardizing my progress.  ARGH.

We all lead busy lives on this board.  What do you do when you know something is distracting you and you want to eat?  How do you discern what it is?

Thanks,
Janice, the tired, frazzled, pained, and confuzzled ...

I am praying for you. We are always going to be food addicts and giving in to whatever or vacationing and having just "a bite" of this and that.. so please be careful.
I am so sorry you are tired, frazzled and in pain. Do you have a local support group?
I wish you lived near me I'd be there for you!! Please find one.
I'm tired too..but tommorrow I am off and I get 2 days this weekend since Labor day is a paid day off and I'm having company!! I have a lazy river you are welcome to come visit.. lazy takes away all the tired frazzled pain staking days! I should know hehehe
And I always lie it all at God's feet. I am in daily pain. But I have a strong tower and I know he can move mountains. Just let stand in faith and know he's going to move it in your life.
As my friend says resolve today is going to be a good day!! :)
Hugs to you Janice!

Janice, I will be praying that your pain eases.  Well...sometimes I have allowed those old feelings of "well you have had such a horrible day, now you can have that whatever because you need it" to come back.  I try not to, but we are human and none perfect, so we do mess up.  However, the thing to remember is that we still have this marvelous tool and it still works and with God and that tool, we can do this thing.  (I am speaking volumes to myself right now LOL).  I sat at the hospital yesterday and drank diet cokes and ate crackers.  Now ... that was about unhealthy and not right as I can get LOL.  However, this morning I began again.

If you get distracted and want to eat, do something to get your mind off of it.  I love keeping busy at work because that use to be one of the worse places for me to snack.  I don't have time any longer, or at least most of the time.  We can and we will do this thing.  Just give God all of the "it could bes" and He will take care of it for you.  I often tell my kids...it is too big for me (and most everything is LOL), so I will give it to God.  You take care of you!!!!

I know from your post that you are in pain--and you are busy.  You have also been at this weight loss journey much longer than me--and the last thing you need is advice from me--or something else to do.

My question is though, do you still journal?  I find it really helps and if I am fastidious at it I will sometimes not eat, whatever, because I don't want to write it down--especially if I am going to post it on the OH board.

I will pray that God will eliminate your pain, and perhaps bring back the memory of the pain you were in before you lost all the weight you have already lost.

Have a blessed day.

My only advice is...
to stop and think about your trigger points.
What do I mean?
When you are choosing to put something "in" your mouth that isn't a good choice or too much of a good choice...at what point are you at in your life?

Are you in pain?
Are you frazzled, as you say?
Are you overwhelmed with "ALL" of the NEW in your life - b/c you do have a lot of changes that have taken place lately in your life?
You will have to do the digging deep within yourself to look for the answers.

I know my own trigger points - let me give you an example.
I eat when I am frustrated...so, as I travel for work between facilities I often get phonecalls on my BB that "may" cause frustration.  I KNOW this ahead of time, so I NEVER carry snacks/extra food with me nor do I have the need to stop for gas.  I fill up the night before where I won't tempt myself to go buy snacks.
See my point?

I pray that you find the answers you are looking for Janice.

See?  this is why I asked the question!

Thank you so much for all your support, prayers, and comments/questions/suggestions.  They are all very helpful and you are so valuable to me!

The pain is still here, but you know I think the big emotional part is that I have been tiredtiredtired.  It was easy to sleep in this morning, fell asleep on the massage table, and took a nap when I got home.  So maybe this time off and sleeping without an alarm is what I need more than anything.

I appreciate you more than you know!
Janice

Janice, I should have made it clear in my post that when I travel to/from or between facilities that I may drive for @ an hour and 15 minutes up to as much as 6 hours.  It just depends on which facility I am going to in the state.  That is why I talk on my BB and tackle things en route, to be somewhat productive while I am on the road.

Take care Lady!  Happy vacationing!

Im sorry i didnt see this before, and im also sorry i dont have any words of wisdom. I seem to give myself permission to "have just a little" and then the whole week is blown. I need to do as Jackie ssaid and find my triggers. Late night is my biggie. ugh.
I hope you find whats causing your problems! I'll be thinking of you!
