am a foodaholic.  Sitting on my rear end for 3 weeks has done me in.  I am out of control!!!  We have eat quick things that does not take much preparation.  As we all know most of that is bad for us.  I am going back to work on Monday so I hope I can get a handle on this.   I am thinking I need the 12 step plan!!!

Oh no. What a bunch of losers I'm buddying around with, Here I thought all of ya'll were perfect like me and come to find out ya'll are flawed. But being the perfect person I am I will forgive each of ya'll. It must really be hard to have something control you life. I am in total control I say that as I just finished eating peanut butter and Wassa bread. I've got a 24 ounce glass of iced coffee right next to me(the second since I got home at 4. I also went shopping for a little bit today. I also read two newspapers and worked a dozen sudoka puzzles. So I just hate it that ya'll don't have as much control as me. Now ya'll aholics(food, coffee, shopping, reading, or puzzles) try to live up to the high standards I have set for you. Remember I love each of ya'll and I would never lie to you. Love, Miss Mary

OMG I was just sitting her thinking how in the world am I going to get over this obsession with FOOD....I had a nice small dinner then I blew it with sunflower seeds, mini candy bars, fat free yogurt, and a homemade egg custard... YIKES... then I read this post and laugh and realize its LIFE... some days are harder than others...habits can be broken ( with me only with a good whippin) and success can be found.. Hang in there Deb and everyone else. I am going to use a minute timer for my eating issues after surgery when I can no longer put food in my belly. I have one concern, my Dr. wants me to fast with liquids for one week before surgery to shrink my liver, that will be good for my liver its a bit fatty....but how in the world am I suppose to do that when I cant even go an hour after dinner without a snack???? LOL I am in big trouble. I think I am going to stay at my moms and lock myself in my room...oh and of course pray. Ask me to be strong for anyone or anything else but don't take away the food... I feel a sweat comin on... LOL I have about 4 weeks before the fast starts and I need to get my head around that and the more I focus on making the change the harder is to stay out of the kitchen...any suggestions??Have a blessed night.

My only advice to you would be not to borrow trouble. Why worry about something that is going to happen in four weeks now. Wait until the night before it starts then worry. If you are anything like what I was you would be thrilled to put up with a meer seven days of liquid to get the surgery. If the doctors told me today I had to have a liquid diet of a month to keep it I would still be thankful. I still don't stay out of the kitchen as much as I would like to but I do make better choices.
I am sure you will do just great. We all have confidence in you. Love you. Miss Mary

Hi Debbie.  My name is Jackie and I am a foodaholic among other things just ask my staff!
I fight a daily food battle on an hourly to hourly basis, and oftentimes food gets the best of me!
I watch what I eat ALL OF THE TIME.  I choose to weigh daily.  My physician avoids long-term medications with weight gain as potential side effects.  I don't buy candles for my home that smell like food b/c they trigger me to want to eat.  I avoid watching T.V. and eating (at the same time) b/c the 2 are a disastrous combination...when a person watches T.V. and eats, studies have shown that they tend to eat MORE volume/calories.  I try to eat as many meals from HOME rather than eating out - why?  In general take out, restaurant food and fast food is HIGHER in calories, sodium and fat.  I avoid paging people at work...rather I get up and go find them - why? Because it makes me get moving and helps to me stay active.  I park away from stores (in parking lots UNLESS it is in the evening/night) to help me stay active.  These are just a few things that I do as interventions to help keep my weight down.  I know I could name more.
I AGREE with you...the convenience food items are usually more caloric and higher in fat content and sodium content.
You are NOT alone Debbie.  I am right here with you.
I love you.  Give me a call if you need to talk, some nutritional help, etc.
Love,  Jackie

Good morning my Little Ladybug friend,

I hear you!!!  You've come to the right place to confess...look at all of us coming out to admit that we are also powerless over food.  We have to turn it over to our Higher Power, which for you and I and a lot of others on this board is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  Turn it over to Him...I'm preaching to the choir I know.

Now, quit beating yourself up...you've been off your feet, literally and you will do better when you're back to your old self.   I love you girl and you are still in my prayers.  Foe syour foot feel any better?  Follow your doctor's orders!!  Do I hear a Yes ma'm!!  LOL

Have a great weekend!!  Tell Jimmy hello!!

Christ's peace,
