Tomorrow morning its off to Baptist Hosp Pensacola to meet with the Nut and have my Psych exam... Oh will they find out I am not always normal???LOL I am normal, most stable person I know except for my husband...You know we have been married for 22 yrs and this is no lie, NEVER had a fight. we have disagreed on a few things over the years but never once has he called me names or said anything to hurt my feelings..Were best friends.. so I am not too worried about the exam. I have known what to expect from the surgery for sometime now since I have many friends who have had it done. some didn't sick to the plan and gained ALL their weight back...that's what worries me...I don't want that to be me in 5 yrs. I do love to eat. I love to cook.  I love to shop for good food. do you ever get past this? I sure hope everyone is doing well. glad to hear about Donna's hip not being broken I will pray for her.
Have a great tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow!  You will do fine.  It sounds like you have been blessed with a wonderful marriage.  That is great.  It will help you in your journey through and after WLS.  Yes, many people gain the weight back.  ANY surgery can be out-eaten.  You have to use the first 18 months or so (the honeymoon period) to change your eating habits.  Get in the habit of being physically active as well.  If you don't change, you may very well gain back the weight.  But you can see a lot of people here on OH who are many years out who have kept the weight off.   You can do it!  Just don't become over-confident.  In the early months it will seem easy and you'll think, Oh, I'll NEVER go back.  Just keep support in your life and change your habits and you'll be fine.  I am only a little over 3 years out and I never let myself gain  more than 5 before I start being more careful and get it back off.  I weigh about once a week or so.  Well, I will shut up now! LOL!

Kay ,
thanks for the advice, I hope that with the smaller pouch and the diet I have to be on will be enough to break the desire for food. I know that I eat to many calories duh thats why I am here. does anyone feel like its not going to happen for them? I dont eat out, I eat whole foods no cereal, pasta once a month and rice once every two months. but I love sweets. so when I read the diet its all the foods I already eat. just have to cut out the whole grains, whole oats, and fiber for a while oh yeah the sugar..........I hope I never want sugar again. I read some people cant eat sugar again and some can. I want to be one of those who can not.
thanks for all the support

Mendy,

have fun with the tests tomorrow.  They will probably only tell you things you already know.  The psych asked me who my most challenging relationship was with and I told him "food" and that was why I was there!  He laughed and agreed.

I am concerned about gaining weight back and actually want to lose some more.  But the tool is still working very well for me, with me being only 18 months out.  I think you find a groove of what works and keep honest with it and yourself.  I have bad days and good days.  But then, that is why I am here too.  :-)
