I got the most awesome surprise today!!!

I was about ready to leave work and walked out of my bosses' office and in the hall stood Vanessa D. and baby Zayne.  Oh my how beautiful that baby is.  She is three months old now and she is absolutely gorgeous.  I even got to hold her.  I was so excited and I guess I still am LOL.  Vanessa looked so good, too.  I just had to share that with y'all.  Just know that our Nessa is still around and totally made my day today.

How lucky you are!  I love Vanessa and would love to get my hands on that baby!  I saw a sonogram of my step-daughter's baby for the first time today! So exciting.  She's due in January.  They don't want to find out what the baby is, so it was a side shot. LOL!  We couldn't see *anything*.  Darn it.  Bill and I think it's a boy though!  This will be our first grandchild.  I guess it's okay to say that even though I'm a "step".

Zayne is gorgeous.  Oh I know you are so excited!!!!  Those grands are the best.  You have an awesome evening.

You are just as IMPORTANT in the baby's life as the other grandparents and don't forget it!  You will be a Grandmother!  He will not look at you and say, you are my Step-Grandmother...he will just love you for being Grandma, Nana, Grandmother, MeMaw, whatever nick you will have. 
I ENCOURAGE you and Bill to get him at EVERY opportunity available after he is born, even if it is for an hour.  And I wouldn't wait for Mom to ask you to keep him, make an offer to her.  Let her know that you & Bill want to give her a much needed break for her to rest for a few hours...she may be really receptive to the idea.  This will give you & Bill bonding time with the baby.

Just my 2 cents...Kay, I just know "us" Step-grandparents have a whole lotta love to give our grandbabies!  As you know, our Dalton has brought me a great deal of joy this year and continues to do so.

Oh Debbie...that baby is so beautiful.  She is a gift directly from God.  She is so content and precious.  I just wanted to take her home, but Nessa would not let me.  Go figure LOL.

I have a friend who wants to have a child that it 7 months out from surgery. I told her about Vanessa and Zayne!! I remember meeting her in the hospital when I was there. She was such a sweetheart! I know Zayne is just a precious gift from God to amazing parents!!! Such an awesome gift!!
So glad you got to see her. We still think of her and her precious family. Thanks for sharing.
