Hey everyone
Hi everybody, I was browsing for some friendly support sites, and y'all seemed so nice. My name's Annii. I just turned 20 in July, and today I was looking through a magazine that had the BMI chart. According to the chart I am in the extreme obesity range. So I'm going to try to lose the weight on my own. It was a reality check; I never thought I was considered in the extreme obesity range. But I would rather do something about it than pack on even more pounds. And I just figured I was say hey and intoduce myself to you guys
Hello,

Hello and welcome to what I have come to believe is the best support board on the net. Here is wishing you good luck on your weight loss attempt on your own. Now I am a bit older than you (54) and am an expert dieter, because in my lifetime I probably lost then gained back 1000 pounds. I was 448 pounds when I started this and am down to 343 now. I hope you do well and are one of the 2% to #% that lose weight and keep it off on their own. I was not so fortunate.
People on this board will give you support, advise and everything they can.

Thanks you guys! It's nice to know there are kind-hearted people in the world. I weighed myself this morning, and I'm 290. I have to lose 150 lbs to get my goal. My heads high and my patience will grow lol But I do have a question. There's a chart that has recommended calorie intake to maintain a steady weight. If I were to use that to consider my calorie intake right now, would that help any in weight loss
Hey there! You could use that chart to consider your calorie intake. I guess if you don't want to maintain, you would take in less calories and add physical activity. Be careful though as you don't want your body to go into starvation mode and hang on to those pounds. Also, start out slow with the exercise. Carrying 150 extra lbs. is a recipe for injury. Trust me, I know! LOL! If you have dieted a lot it probably will be harder to get the weight off. But you can do it. Don't look at the 150 lbs. Look at it in smaller goals. You know what they say, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! However you choose to lose your weight we will be here to support you!

Yea most def. I appreciate the support, things are going fairly well. Especially mentally, even though it's frustrating, [my mom always has to bring junk food home ] lol I do feel better though. Makes me feel better knowing that I am doing good for myself, without forced pressure. Hopefully, things will just get better as I go. ^_^
