Sunday Hugs

What we are being told in this chapter is not to be slaves to sin. One definition of the word slave is: a person entirely under the domination of some influence or person: We can be slaves to so many things. Money, our jobs, gossip, FOOD or anything that takes our lives over and dominates us. I have been a slave to many things and one of them was food. I don't know about you, but at one point in my life, I actually got angry when I did not get my nightly Hershey's with almonds. I would actually get upset with John if I did not have it and he would not go and get it. Now you tell me...I was totally addicted and had become a slave to that. I look back now and think how did that happen??? It did not happen all in one day. It happened a little at a time, and over time it became a horrible, life threatening addiction that caused me so much pain. I was a total slave to my food. It took over my life. I thank God for my WLS and for my surgeon and his team. Through that, God has allowed me to become free of this bondage. We can become free of all bondages throught Christ.
