Update on Dalton

Hi Everyone...
I'm at home b/c Tim stayed with Brittney & Dalton last night as I have an appointment with Jessie this a.m.
Dalton was getting ready to be D/C'd home and began having more seizures last night.  The medical staff was sure that his Wed. long set of seizures was an isolated event related to his fever, so they were going to send him home with diastat in case he were to have seizures again (for emergencies).  This time, when he began having seizures, he had no fever...and by the grace of God the discharging M.D. and nurse witnessed him during his seizure.  His seizures are not typical  and are hard to describe as he doesn't lose consciousness, rather his little body has waves of stiffness, twitching, jerking, wave-like movements and he doesn't respond to his name at all.  His eyes are always open during this time.
Please continue to remember him in your prayers.  He isn't feeling well at all.  He is typically a very happy baby, but he is crying a great deal and he is very irritable.  We know this is his way of telling us that something is wrong, and they are running all of the test they know to run to check him out...so far, everything is coming back fine.  Dalton has never been sick...never been on an antibiotic...nothing and he is 7 months old!
Thank you for all of your prayers.
Love,
Jackie

I'm so glad you were able to update us Jackie. Poor little Dalton. I know all of you are worried sick about him. You, your family and Dalton are definitely in my prayers. We're believing this is something minor and can be corrected. Please know that we care very much and love you even more.

I know you stated that fever was not a part of Dalton' onset of seizures. My son was 8 months old when he had his first febrile seizure (104). He was hospitalized several times and two spinal taps done and a some brain wave procedure done to see what the effects of the seizure. He was constantly on antibiotics and tylenol and motrin back to back and a breathing machine along w/ albuterol (ugh...).  All the doctors could say was that these were fever seizures and he would grow out of them. Praise God. he turned  two years old he wasn't sick (no fever, no ear infection, no cold, no nothing) for 6 years. Now, he is 10 1/2 years old and a "normal" boy....doing all the things that boys do and don't do . :)

I prayed for you and will keep Dalton and your family in my prayers. I pray that this will  be over quickly for young precious babe

Many Blessing to you and your family,
Michele
