Hugs for an awesome Thursday!!!

 Sending out hugs on this awesome Thursday.  You all have a great day today.  If you will, please whisper a prayer for my Geni in the morning.  She is having surgery tomorrow.  She is very nervous and unsettled.  I know my Lord is gonna be right there with her.  I love y'all!!  

God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able.  (1 Corinthians 10:13)

A temptation alway****s me at an area of need.  It may be a need for higher self-value, attention, appreciation, or approval.  It could also be loneliness, pride, anger or another emotion.  It could be .... food...wow.  I know that is a big big temptation for me still and unless God removes my taste buds totally and the ability to eat, it probably always will be.  However, we should ask ourselves in the face of temptation, "Is there another way of getting this need met in my life?"  The answer is always, "yes".  God always has an alternative for meeting the deep needs of our lives.  He wants us to have His wisdom about how to meet our deepest emotion needs.  I have to ask myself when I begin to do something I shouldn't do...."is this what I need to do...or is this what I want to do?"

You know, when I quit smoking I relied heavily on God to help me through the temptations. I struggled mightily  through the temptations to smoke a cigarette or go buy cigarettes, but I became quite close to God at that time. He probably got quite tired of hearing from me.

Thank you for posting this, because the thought never entered my mind that I could ask Him for help with my eating temptations. I've been struggling the past few weeks and when I'm almost at my wit's end, God tells you to throw this out here so I can see see it.

Thank you and hugs to you, too on this very foggy, dreary, overcast day. But it's still an awesome one!

AWESOME post this morning my friend!  Hugs back to ya also.  I am thankful that you posted this just as Gisela.  We ask for help in many areas from God, but do we ever think to pray and ask Him to help us when food tempts us? WOW!  Love it.  And I love you!  Have a blessed day!

God, help me today to overcome ANY temptation that may come my way.  I know you are there to make a way of escape for ME!  AMEN!

What an awesome post this morning. I sometimes let my wants and tempations overpower the need. There is so much need-not just our needs- the needs of our family sometimes take a front seat of our own! I am so Glad that God is in complete control!!! He takes care of it all.
Sometimes we forget and try to pick it back up again. But he's right there ready to take it back up.
I pray Geni gives it all up to him today and know that each day will be easier than the day before.
