help>>>i need a dr

ok so I have been considering WLS for about 4 years now. I have been very close to hvaing the surgery and backed out for various reasons. Well when I was getting ready to have the surgery before I was in florida and then oklahoma. Now I live in Alabama. About an hour from Dothan.  was wondering if anyone knew of any good PCPs that supported weight loss surgery. And if there was anyone you could reccomend. I am willing to drive if I have too.

Welcome to our board!  There are great folks here that I know will give you a wonderful recommendation from several....my doctor is in Birmingham, but he is wonderful and I recommend him often.

I would recommend calling Dr. Scott Robbins office in Dothan and finding out when their support group meetings are. Then maybe you could network a doctor. I had my surgery 5 years ago, so I don't really know anything else to suggest.

Hey there Tara.  Welcome to the board.  I know where Clayton is.  I graduated from Pike Co. High.  There are some good surgeons in Dothan and my cousin used one of them.  Cook I think was his name.  As far as PCPs that support WLS, there are several in Troy and Dothan.  I know in Troy, Dr. Dichera (spelling) does.  I hope you find one.  Be sure to keep us posted and we look forward to seeing you more.
