Monday Hugs

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1:6-7)
Have you been going through a storm that you think will never end? We are told here that we should rejoice for the trials. I know that sounds crazy, but the reason we should rejoice is because after each trial, we are a bit more and a bit more molded and stronger to do the work of the Father. When steel is needed to complete a project or is to be used in a building, the steel is heated and molded to the formation that is needed for that specific purpose. That is exactly what God does through our trials and storms. He is allowing us to go through the fire in order that we can be molded to do exactly as He wants...not as we want. That steel also becomes stronger, as we will. We are also told that this will prove our faith genuine. Is our faith truly genuine or is it just lip??? I know at times, mine has been lip. It is often hard to have faith when you are going through storms. However, if we just hang on and have faith that God will bring us through, He will prove His faithfulness to us. It is easy to have faith during the good times. It is much harder to believe down in the valley. I love the song "God of the Mountain". It is down in the valley when our faith is put to the test.
I'm with you this morning Carmen. I love that song "God on the Mountain" too. I am praying for some miracles today. Pastor preached on miracles yesterday. I've already received more than my share this year but I could use a few that would even benefit others.
Take care and God bless.
