A lot to take in
Dang, y'all, I go away for a weekend and entire new page of posts is up! Awesome chattering.
Like many of the posts, it's been an up and down few days.
On the positive side, Thursday was my youngest granddaughter's first birthday. I went to Georgia on Friday to spend the weekend, celebrating her and her birthday. It was a great time!
Also on the positive, a friend of mine who had a tumor removed via his nose, did very well with the surgery and is very tired but continuing to recover well.
And also on the positive side, had great visits with friends and my Georgia church home today. What a blessing to be somewhere familiar (kinda like Cheers!).
On the challenging side, my friend with agressive breast cancer started her chemo Friday. While it went well and she didn't hurl - she is tired. Similarly, a friend of mine who is dealing with Stage 4 liver and colon cancer doesn't look so great, but has a really positive happy demeanor. I worry about her. And her dad is not doing so hot either ... although he told me some really silly jokes! Goodness!
And traffic in Alabama is getting to me. It took me no time to get from Macon to Phenix City today, but then double the time it should have to get from Phenix City to Montgomery. Lots of accidents and stalled cars .. and people were crabby around it and driving very agressively. I wanted to get home to, but that was it- I wanted to get HOME, not via the hospital. But in relation to the traffic, I don't know how many around Montgomery heard about the fatal accident on Friday: http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/article/20090815/NEWS01/ 908150340/3-year-old+boy+dies+in+3-vehicle+crash-year-old The driver of the F150 is someone I knew. He was traveling with his new bride and his autistic son. It sounds like it was a mixture of miscommunications in what people were doing (no turn signals, lights changing, etc etc) so everyone involved was at fault and not at fault and all of them are suffering. Please keep them in prayer.
So tomorrow is Monday. I am glad to be home - where my kitties did not tear apart the apartment in my absence (yay kitties!) - and am now going to go read for a little bit since this is finals week (I'm reading People, y'all, NOT homework!)

BUT....you came through Phenix City and that's where I live! Some time when you're heading over to GA and have a few minutes to spare let me know and we'll meet for coffee or something! Nobody EVER comes to PC, so it would be great to meet you as you pass through!
Prayers are being said for your friends who are in need.

Sorry that your friends who are battlling that horrible disease of cancer aren't doing so well. Lifting them up in prayer.
The traffic sounds horrible. It can get pretty wild down our way, but i know when we've been in Montgomery it is so much heavier!
Good to hear you did make it home in one piece...so sad about your friends in the accident. Lifting them in prayer also. Please update when you can.
Have a great Monday.
