Hugs on this wonderful Wednesday!!!
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21)
What we say is permanent. We may apologize, but we can never erase the effects that our words may have on another person. Even if we are not speaking directly to someone and they hear what we say to someone else, it may harm those listening. I will never forget. When my boys were young and they played little league, there were two ladies in the bleachers. They began laughing and making comments about my backside being so large. That hurt me so badly, but no one ever knew that. From that time on, I was so self conscious when going to the ball park, especially. I am sure that you can think of an incident that caused great hurt to you. Think about how it hurt you and how it decreased your self esteem. Our words can be awesome and uplift and show love or they can destroy and produce hate. I have said things at times before I thought and regretted it later. I have lashed out in anger before I even thought about what I was saying. I honestly did not mean what I said, but I had said it, it was out, I had hurt someone and there was no taking it back. I pray that my mouth is guarded that I hurt no one. No matter what the situation is, we should always sit and listen and be quiet until we can find something positive to say. If there is nothing positive to say, then say nothing.
Hugs to you on this cloudy damp day so far.Today is my friends b"day so its off to have lunch in a little while. You have a good one and pass it on! Love Ya!Juju
I am better than that....I will try NOT to doubt those who are close to me. Keeping my mouth shut has always been difficult for me.....but I am really trying where this person is concerned. I thought she was my friend (even though it was not a BFF type of friendship)...she stupidly still thinks she is. She thinks she "knows" how I feel about things and people in my life...she knows nothing!!
Anyway...Carmen.......I will gladly take those hugs today!! I hope they carry me through the day until I can get some things straightened out this evening!!! An extra prayer...or 3...would probably help too!!
Love you, my sweet friend!!
1 Peter 4:16-20 (New International Version)
16However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 17For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18And,
"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"a]">[a]
19So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
Matthew 5:43-48 (New International Version)
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbora]">[a] and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemiesb]">[b] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
There are those who will try and make God's elect suffer. Just pray for them.
