Moving to Tuscaloosa

Greetings,

I just wanted to say hello to my soon to be neighbors. A week from today I'm moving from Long Island, NY to Tuscaloosa, AL with my husband and daughter. I'm feeling overwhelmed and nervous but excited. I look forward to getting to know you all. You seem like such a friendly group of people!

Wow, you're in for a change, I'm afraid, LOL.   Long Island to Bama???  And you'll be in the HEART of bama country in T'town.  Seriously, tho...you're gonna love it!!

Hello Heather.  Welcome to Alabama!!!  I agree with Lisa, you are in for a shock.  But you know not all shocks are bad.  I love my home state of Alabama.  I hope you will love it also.  For the most part we are a bunch of friendly people.  We will welcome you with open arms and be here for you when you need us!!  Please come often so we can get to know you!!

At the state line you will be stopped and required to pledge your allegiance to either Auburn or Alabama football....since you are going to live in T-town, you DO NOT have a choice my friend.....pick Alabama!!  Roll Tide!!  Oh, and the bomb raid sirens you'll hear in the Spring and Fall are tornado sirens......things I wished I'd known when I relocated here 22 years ago.  This is a great state--you'll love it!  Welcome!

Welcome. you will love it here. I've lived in Tuscaloosa all my life. and yes-you will have to choose Alabama not Auburn here.

Thank you so much for your welcome words. I know I will need to choose Alabama - I'll be working at the university. They informed me of this when I interviewed. :)

I have so much to do in the next week, I may not check in much. However, once I'm in T-Town, I will become an active member of your group. Thank you for the kind words.
