I have been putting this off long enough!  I joined OH in December (I think) and haven't gotten involved like I should.  Trying to fix that!

I went back to my doctor today and have a surgery date..... July 31st.  I'm a mixture of scared, nervous, anxious, excited, and scared to death!  I hope that's normal.  I have to start my pre-op diet on Friday.  Not really looking forward to that at all   Surgery will be at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham.  Dr. Touliatos is my surgeon.

A little about me........ 31 years old, married (6 years yesterday!), mommy to a 3.5 y/o spoiled rotten little boy.  I work full-time for the US Gov't.  Born and raised in Alabama, but have lived in several different places within the state.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Congratulations on your surgery date and to getting into getting to know everyone.  This is a great group of people.

Your reactions to having a surgery date and it being not too far away are pretty normal.  You should feel all those things.  This is a big deal in all those ways!

Whatever we can do to help, let us know.  I am in the process of moving to Montgomery (am currently homeless ... ha!), but will be there Sunday!

I'm DebbieDoo and a regular here when I can actually find time to get online. I'd like to welcome you to the Bama Board. There are some wonderful people here that you will find very helpful and friendly.

My emotions were about like your's but it was so long ago till I can barely remember it. I do know one thing - the surgery saved my life. I don't think I would be here today if I had not lost weight, changed my attitude and made the friends I have here. I just got through battling cancer and this group here stood by my side and offered me their encouragement as well as their prayers. They are my true friends.

Come back often. By the way, what is your first name?

Blessings,
DebbieDoo
