Update on Drs Appt
First off I have to brag on my plastic surgeon's office! I called at 9am when they opened & they had me come in at 945. I was home by 1030. It's always like that, they are SO responsive and I have never had to wait long in the office. They are very efficient!!
It was a Seroma (buildup of fluid under the skin) which is fairly normal after they take the drains out because the fluid has nowhere to go. Many times they will drain it with a needle but because mine was already coming out of the suture hole he kept mashing, squeezing and poking it with one of those long q-tip things. He got LOTS of stuff out and sent a sample to the lab but was almost positive there was no infection because it looked mostly clear once he got in there. He gave me a script for an antibiotic just in case though, especially since it was a long weekend. He inserted a flexible rubbery looking tube thing he walled a wick. He wants me to force stuff out three times a day and come back to him Monday. I'm telling you this visit was GROSS....he had stuff literally squirting. I got real sweaty and felt a little icky but I never came close to passing out. Luckily none of it hurt because things are still really numb. He said the flexible drain will probably fall out within a couple of days and I'm not looking forward to that. This is just WEIRD!!! YUK!!
Getting all this stuff out will cause the pain to go away and will help with some of the swelling. WHEW....plastics is NOT for the faint of heart or stomach! All this is pretty normal so my healing process continues to be a wonderful success! Thank You Jesus!! And thanks to you for your prayers!

WOO HOOOOO!!!! Praise the Lord!!!! I am thrilled that you are fine, however, I knew you would be LOL. Nope...after hearing some of the stories....I think this gal will just keep her flabbiness. I don't think I could handle it, but I am thrilled each time I hear one of you all getting to have these things. I know it is awesome. You rest and take care of you. Love ya!!!
I hear you Carmen! I am one tough cookie but this surgery has made me feel like a wuss! haha
I just keep on telling myself that THIS TOO SHALL PASS and when it does I know it's all going to worth it. I have actually had it better than some so I'm very thankful for that.
Love ya!

Praise the Lord! We knew our God was faithful! What a great doctor's office. I hate that you are going through this but you will be much better because of it! Sorry you had a yucky appt but Im glad things went well! I know my Dr kept me on antibiotics just to prevent infection for a month, make sure you eat some yogurt! Maybe this will get things back to normal for you, I know at even 3 months out I am still slightly swollen Ive been told to give it a good 6 months to say its all gone. But just think it could be a lot worse! Your doing great and Im sure will love the results!
Girl look at your picture!!!!! You look AWESOME!!!!!!!!
I've heard the swelling can last a good while too so I guess I'll be wearing my dresses for a long while. I hate to buy new clothes only to have them be big in a few months. I still have no idea what size I am. I'm not as swollen as some so I am thankful for that!
Still can't get over how good you look! WOW !

Wow Phyllis that sounds like a great doc and staff!
I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious. It does sound yucky...the yucky I think I could handle...its the pain and the drains that concern me the most. I AM a wimp when it comes to pain so thats the part that concerns me the most about the surgery. But I want this rollover gone so I can get clothes that fit correctly!!
I know you are going to continue to heal well. You are doing GREAT! I make me feel almost like I can do it!! Thanks for sharing your journey!!
Still praying that you will heal completely and speedily. Hang in there!!
