Very bad day!
I went back to the doctor today who informed me my potassium is still critical and I'm ketotonic. I've got to go back Wednesday and have a possible hospital stay I'm not doing well. The worst part though is I had to put my best friend, confidant, child down today. She developed cancer 6 months ago and I've done everything to help her but this weekend it spread to her brain and she began seizing and was having trouble breathing. This is so hard she was there for me through the roughest years of my life. I'm going to miss you forever Jodee(dachshund) RIP 09-08-1998/ 06-29-2009

Amy,
So sorry you are still having issues with your potassum. How is the dehydration you experenced last week? Hopefully better!
Also so sorry about Jodee! My two dogs are my children so I can understand your grief. Please take care of yourself during this time though.
I'm praying for your health and your heart.

Hey Amy,
So sorry bout your furbaby, I cannot imaagine. Sounds like she had a long happy life & I am sure she knew she was loved! She is no longer in pain, but running around like a young pup, with fire hydrants on each cloud & bones laying around like rocks! Remember the good times, they will get you through the bad ones.
Hang in there with your potassium issues, just keep your eye on how much better things will be in the long run! Don't focus on the rough patches right now. As they say "keep your eye on the prize"! I know that's easier said than done, I've been there.
Take care of you, keep us posted & keep your chin up.
Bonnie

Amy,
I've been out of touch...very busy at work with end of fiscal year being today, but have been lurking and you have been in my prayers.
Wanted to stop and tell you that I'm praying and so sorry to hear of your loss of Jodee. We've always had dachshunds. They are very special dogs and I know you will miss her very much. We had to put our Brandy down 7 years ago on July 10...she was 18 years old. We just got another one the day after Easter...it was hard to make that decision because of the decision we had to make 7 years ago so I do understand though I may not know exactly how you feel. We all grieve in our own way.
Take care of you, Jodee, like Bonnie said, is running around heaven perfectly well now and you need to get well. Continued prayers for your physical and emotional health. Love and hugs.

Hi Amy. I am so sorry about your baby. We are dog lovers also and I know how hard it is to lose one. They just love us unconditionally.
Please listen to your doctors and do just what they say. You are going to do so well on your weight loss but if you don't keep your health along the way you will not enjoy your new lease on life. Sometimes we just have to do what they say even when we don't feel like it. I mean like forcing tha****er, eating that egg. Please keep us informed. We care.
