Eating out
I agree that Mexican is always a good choice. The refried beans are always good and you can even mix in a little Salsa for more flavor. Not sure what all your doc allows you to have on the soft phase but if you can have meat you can order a taco and mash the meat up really good in with the beans, or just ma**** up with the cheese thats inside the taco.
Mashed potatos or maybe even hashbrown casserole from Cracker Barrel might also be an option. Or soup from just about any restaurant as long as it does not have big chunks of meats.
Baked potatos are also a good option. Not really a lot of protein but a good eating out option. Or even eggs and grits.
Good luck! Let us know what you end up with!

I love me a good bowl of soup ... and there are some really good white chicken chilis out there (speaking of Mexican, ha!).
Then there is this really decadent tasting side dish at Red Lobster ... mashed potatoes topped with lobster. Yummy!
Enjoy. I find eating out challenging because waitstaff or people who don't know me fuss about silly things. But have learned to be assertive and assure people that I really only want a bowl of soup or something. Then I concentrate on the people and the event.
HAPPY SOON TO BE BIRTHDAY FOR YOUR SON!
