Only God can heal deep inner emotional wounds, especially those from our early childhood.  Some things occur at a very early age such as abuse, neglect or hurtful behavior.  This is one reason that some of us turned to food for comfort.  Only God sees the beginning from the ending in a person's life.  Only He knows why some feelings exist in us.  He is the only one who knows how to unravel the tangled web of emotions that trap us and make us feel as we have at times.  He loves us so much and wants to heal all the wounds.
