Hug has pneumonia.  She spent two days at the Vet's hospital.  She is taking two different kinds of antibiotics every day.  She is not very active, but she does seem to be getting better.  She is eating, drinking, and eliminating appropriately, so she is not at death's door.  She just looks depressed, mostly.  It is amazing what we will pay for a dog's health and actually let our own doctor's visits go.  I am much more concerned about her health than I am about mine.  Anyway, we are doing well for the time being.

I still will be contacting those of you who volunteered for my research project in the next week or so.  I have got to get that done this summer.

Right now, I am fighting weight gain with a passion.  I am also trying to get some last minute stuff done for school.  Not enough time, and too many distractions.  I am just so unmotivated to actually work on anything.  I want to just kick back and do enjoyable things.  However, June 29, the end of my summer vacation is at hand.  I have about 7 more days to do all that I had planned for this month off....then it is back to work and the tread mill of my job.  I think I am ready to retire, but cannot afford it yet.

Ohhh, Hug!  So sorry to hear She is sick!    And pneumonia at that!  I know when I have it, I feel horrible!!!  I can imagine how she feels.  Bless her little (large) doggy bones!  I will be praying for her.

You aren't the only one who fights weight gain...I too battle it daily!  Sometimes it is an hour by hour battle.    Hang in there and KNOW you are NOT alone Karla!

I too also want to do enjoyable things rather that working!  HA!  Especially now that I am working from home more.  I've got to use more self control and disciple to get my job done...and I do!  I just stay focused, and remember I am NOT on my time, rather I am on "...'s" time!  It puts things into perspective when I see it that way!

Great to see you posting!  Your wisdom and insight is missed on the board!
Love you my friend!

Awww, sorry to hear Hugs is under the weather. It is so sad to see our pet ailing. Not having kids I can't imagine how much worse it would be to see a child of mine sick.
Take care of YOU so that you can take care of Hugs!

Hug seems to be getting better.  She wanted to go somewhere today, so we walked around the block. She did well with that.  It was a little hot, but she managed it.  She has lost about 10 pounds since her last Vet trip.  I am not sure how much of it is due to our "reducing plan" and how much is due to her illness.   However, the vet was pleased.  She goes back to see him on Tuesday.  Hopefully she will be doing even better by then.

Thank you all for your concern about Hug, she has been really, really sick for about two weeks.
