We too hit the "home" store of our choice!  Tim's having to hang another towel rack in the master bath of our old home, so we went to get another one.  We went to Lowe's...with paint all over us!  Thank goodness they are forgiving when you look rough in "home" stores, huh?
Enjoy Alvin Slaughter today!

I'm having a busy weekend. I started a new job last night. Stayed 12 hours with a lady(6 PM to  6AM) went out to eat breakfast. Then went grocery shopping for another lady I work for. Then went to her house and will stay with her until 10 tomorrow. Go to church the go back and stay with her until Tuesday morning. After that I'll see. i just came home to get my phone cord. I had a wonderful surprise. My son had came and brought me a western Collection. 3 Sam Elliott movies. Maybe I'll get a chance to see them soon.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Love, Miss Mary

Congrats on the new job!
My pink hydrangeas have 3 blooms on it now...the blue one, nothing (I think it is being stubborn!).  It gives me a lot of pleasure to see these everyday ~ thank you again!
Love, Jackie & family

painting, painting, painting.

My initial job of painting the inside of the house has moved to painting the outside of the house.  We had to fix the window in the living room where I was painting.  That led to having to repaint that window...which has led to repainting all the outside windows, which, of course, led to repainting the porch posts and the door facing.  I don't have to paint the rest becasue it is siding.

Then, I have the kitchen to repaint and we will see what that will lead to.  I had to do a little work on my wallpapering job where a couple of seams lifted, which led to fixing a patch in the bathroom wall paper, too.

It appears that I could stay here all summer and not get all the work done.  However, I am stopping with the kitchen and the rest will have to wait.  I have the paint for the kitchen bought.  I do not have the paint bought for the hall and bedroom that I planned on painting, too.

It not just the painting.  It is the painting, deep cleaning the room, and cooking at least two meals a day that is so time consuming.

I hear ya, hear ya, hear ya!
That's what Tim & I are doing this weekend!
We are headed back today to put a second coat on the kitchen walls, laundry room walls, Jessie's room walls and to start Olivia's room and to start Hunter's room.
I've also been cleaning, cleaning, cleaning as Tim has been fixing things around the house...just small things that need to be fixed.
It is ALOT of work, but it has to be done!

When you start this painting stuff, you suddenly notice that little crack or find a board that needs to be replaced.  Then there are little holes that need filling.  The carpet seems to need cleaning, because you have moved the furnature around enough that you notice...or you see that worn spot that you didn't realize was really that bad looking....or was getting too big to conceal with a throw rug.  You see scratches on the furniture that you didn't know were there....etc.  The job just seems to multiply out of control.  None of them are big deals, they just suddenly demand your attention.  You also find stuff that needs to be thrown away or that got misplaced or lost.  It is amazing how much you notice that the drapes need cleaning or replacing, and the list goes on and on and on.  Locks that need to be replaced, switch plates that are looking bad, and stuff that will dollar you to death to take care of.  None of it is expensive, but it all adds up to way more than you thought about paying for.  Of course, I want it all to look like a little dollhouse, so that is another personal problem added to just general maintainance.

I totally understand...house "stuff" will nickle and dime you to death!  I AGREE with you 100%!
We like to shop at the Habitat for Humanity thrift store for items to replace in our home...sometimes we find what we need, sometimes we don't!  We found brand new, in the box, ceiling fans for $10 a piece just a few weeks ago!    These were Hunter fans too!
Happy house cleaning/repairing/fixing up!
