Hi everyone, things here at home are wonderful.  It is truly a fish out of water thing.  It is totally different from watching my niece and nephew,  but we will adjust.  if anyone has any ideas how to get Zayne's days and nights straighten out, please tell.  Even though I'm not getting very much sleep I would not trade it for nothing.    God Bless, Nessa

I had 3 of my own and 2 step and don't remember any of mine having days/nights mixed up.

I will ask my Mom today if she has any tips about this for she is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse (Baby Nurse)...she's done this for almost as long as I have been alive!  If she has any, I will post them TONIGHT after work, okay?

So sorry you are going through this.  As a Mom, you NEED your sleep to be at your best.  Hang in there.  Keep in mind one thing:  This too shall pass!

Love you my friend!

Congrats Nessa! She is beautiful... Enjoy her while you can because before you know it, she'll be up and about crawling - like my Lil Girl. She's 7 months and time has just flown by!!!  As for the days/nights being mixed up. Kayleigh's were mixed up too at that age. The thing that worked for me was a schedule. I kept her busy during the day, playing singing, etc. And then when it was bed time, she got a bottle and went down after burping. Also a biggie for her was lights. Keep lights off while you change or feed her at night. The only light I had was a deemed light on the table beside the glider where I did her night feedings. Also, try some soft music. Kayleigh loves her music while she sleeps. I really think it "calms" her down and relaxes her to a point of being sleepy. My son loved it and so does she. To help with the lights and music, Walmart has a glow seahorse. It reminds me of those baby dolls that the tummies that glowed. The only difference is that this a seahorse (teal in color) and has the glow tummy that you could push to glow and it plays soft music. It has an automatic shut-off and a volume control where the batteries go. When she woke up at night, all I had to do was push the tummy and the glow was bright enough to see where she was or what she was doing. And now I can see if she lost her paci without turning on the big overhead light.

Good luck with this and hopefully you'll getting some much needed rest soon. I did all these things and Kayleigh has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 months old. And now at 7 months, she's in bed by 7:30pm and sleeps until 6 or 6:30am.  :)

Nessa.. Just keep in mind the 5 B words... Bath, Bottle, Birp & Blankie & then Bed.  Try that on a schedule for a bit and see if it works.. always had for mine and for my mother in law that had 13 kiddos...

My son still has to have this schedule every night and he's going on 6 years old other than the bottle & burp.. but he does have to have his sippy cup instead.
