Update on Aden Lee

Hey Everyone!
It's been a few days, so I wanted to update everyone.

On Wednesday, the medical team sent Aden over (med flight) to Children's.  Aden was in CCU at UAB, but when he arrived at Children's they placed him back into ICU for he has taken a turn for the worse.   He began to not eat by mouth, although a NG tube (NasoGastric Tube) is meeting his primary nutritional needs at this point.    He just could not tolerate the feedings by mouth, AND he doesn't "know" to eat/feed.

Since arriving at Children's, he continues to undergo testing.
Yesterday, he had surgery to place a shunt in his head to eleviate the fluid from his brain.
His seizures are still under control with medication at this time.

His parents have been able to be at his side daily - thanks to the Ronald McDonald House.  His Dad has to go back to work on Monday, which I can imagine will be difficult to leave Aden's side, but life must go on!

Please, please continue to pray for this little guy!  He NEEDS our prayers as do Michael and Tina!

Thank you Everyone

Oh Jackie,

I'm so sorry little Aden has had this set-back.  Poor little fellow.

I know you said he wasn't premature, but itsure does sound like he is having a lot of the problems that come with being born prematurely.

I will continue to pray for the little man and the strength he needs to grow stronger and stronger so that when they try to feed him by mouth again, he will be able to suckle and learn to latch on to the nipple and eat his fill.  I know God can and will take care of litle Aden's every need.

Please God as his daddy, Michael has to go back to work, please give him the peace and comfort he needs to endure the time away from his baby boy and the strength and stamina he needs to work and then return to the hospital to be with Tina and Aden.  Also Father God, please comfort his mommy, Tina as her arms ache to hold her baby boy and feed him and her heart aches as she watches the tubes and needles in her baby that she knows are sustaining his life, but at the same time look frightening to her.  Lord, God wrap your arms around this precious family and fill them with your love, peace, comfort, and strength.   Lord especially send your healing power directly into little Aden and give him a complete healing so they can all go home and begin their lives together as the loving family they desire to be.  I come to you Father God and ask these things in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen, Amen!!  Praise the Lord I know God is still in the miracle business and I am expecting a miracle for Aden, Tina and Michael!!!

Love you Jackie!!

The fluid in his brain has pressed against those receptors (so to speak), causing him not to "know" that he needs to eat.  He knows "how" to nurse...just not "when" he needs to.
Again, his primary nutritional needs ARE being met via NG tube, but they are trying to ween him from the NG tube to the bottle.
Since they eleviated the fluid from the brain with the shunt, he SHOULD do better as far as "knowing" that he must eat for those receptors should be working now according to the medical staff.  Of course, there were MANY other reasons to get the fluid off the brain at this point for it was dangerous for the little guy.

Connie, by the way, you aren't the only one Aden has "stumped medically, so to speak of.  A few things they found with Aden's birth/life so far has the medical team puzzled.
The team of physicians has told Tina and Michael that for Aden to be a FULL TERM, FULLY DEVELOPED baby he has really taught them alot for he has some attributes of a pre-term baby, but in NO WAY is he a pre-term baby.

Praying and believing God for a MIRACLE for this baby in Jesus' Name!  God minister to this baby and to his parents.  Give them strength and your mercy.  Let healing flow from the top of his head to the very tips of his little precious toes.  Send your miinistering Angels to his side and Father, let your breath breathe upon him for he is YOUR child!  I ask these things AND BELIEVE that you can and will do this as a sign to all that you STILL heal and YOU STILL do miracles!

LOve ya my friend!

For every Goliath, there is a Stone! His name is Jesus!"
